someone traded this little Lavey in for a new Pontoon at Cactus RV.

If anyone has any info on it let me know. I’ve only ever seen a few of these.

Really nice little boat. I’ve liked these since I saw the Stern Panic Attack boat in Parker. Small boat with some good freeboard.

I’m headed for the water!! If you see me on Havasu let me know

I had one with a 496 HO. It would run a tad over 70. Had no fear of bigger water. Plenty of freeboard for a smallish boat. It's a big 21 because they don't count the swim step like so many builder tend to do. The Lavey guys are great to work with as well.

That is an amazing first boat. I've always loved me an opti based merc outboard!

Also my first boat was a 1987 18ft Wellcraft knock off with the distributor less merc 3.0L and absolutely no interior. You're ahead of the curve if I do say so myself

Congrats on the new ride. Our Lavey Cat was probably the best boat I've owned . . . and I've had a few.

According to my source, '"only built 2 with outboards. One was for the chef at Shugrue's. "

By the way, it’s “Hey LAM” but you’re excused since you bought a boat :D

The 300x isn't Opti based. The Optis are direct injection.

Wish I could walk around the engine to see for myself... if its tb injected that's great too! Honestly did not look that closely at the engine. Just saw that it was 2stroke and was happy :)

I think you guys were launching as we were retrieving. Outboard actually sounded kind of cool when you fired up

Sweet ride, love the colors. I've always liked that model Lavey as well. Cool that the whole crew has the boating grin. :D The 300x is a good motor if you take care of it. Run a good 2 stroke oil like Amsoil, Lucas or the Merc Premium stuff, change the gear oil every year with Lucas or Merc High Performance and replace the impeller annually as well. If there is any chance it might sit a couple of months between use treat the fuel with Marine Stabil and get a good trickle charger, the 3 liters don't like a low battery.

Have fun. If your on the lake this weekend bring it by the ski race at the Springs. Would love to see it.

Great choice. Give Chris at LaveyCraft a call and he can tell you anything you want to know about the boat. Laveyjr on the boards can probably answer any questions as well.

Congratulations . Saw that one a few months ago. Actually talked with the wife about selling our 24’ NuEra to buy it.

Were you in the White Yukon or the Silver F350?

Thanks for the tips. I was told that the Quicksilver oil is re-branded merc oil. Any truth to that?

Yes. Quicksilver is Mercury's brand. But I believe that is their lower line. Not too sure about that. I've never had a HiPo outboard so I'm not well versed in oil for one. My lowly carbed 2.4 happily drinks anything I out in the gas. So I get to just run cheap Wallyworld TC-W3 oil.

Thats a cool boat and congrats! I was actually eyeing her online for a while also. I use the Mercury branded 2 Stroke premium in my 2.5 Drag.

I heard Quicksilver is the same but Id rather not chance it.

And for heavens sake, take that Bimini top down and air her out and see what she runs:)

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, as others have mentioned Mercury and Quicksilver are the same. The part number for the water pump kit is 47-8M01000526. Personally I stick with Mercury/Quicksilver version but know guys who use the Sierra stuff with no problems.
