I'm hoping the figures were doctored for the "hoax" but everything else is right. Like they are doing a 450r at those specs but as well as a 500 with that same weight. Cause 690 lbs for 450hp is not all that impressive. Along with needing the digital controls still.

It is NOT capatible with old cable shifting.

They aren’t gonna make any more investment in high HP 2 stroke outboards. Why would they, there is no money in it. They have a host of engines already for sub 25 foot boats. These are for larger, multi engine, feature filled boats. That is where the money is. Hence DTS requirement, and heavier weight. They will make another 100HP out of this platform pretty easily.

I would say the extra 50 hp + more torque, but lower rpm limit doesn’t make this a faster motor for the twin engine cats (25-40ft)

This does help with the cc crowd and keeping some weight down with 4 instead of 5 motors so to speak. At best I think you see 5-7 mph improvement over the 400r in the twin engine car market. But for the price of 40% more than the 400r

Thats why my old 2.5 keeps rising in value There just isnt any more motors out there for the smaller high performance boats.

40% improvement on torque..

MTI 340 has already run 134 mph. That’s more than 10mph gain I believe.
