Well we got our first broken glass from a hacker! My wife was sweeping the patio and an errant ball came in and bounced off the patio and crash!
I heard my wife scream a little so I came out to see what was up.
I ran over to see who tee'd off and luckily he walked over and gave me his business card, apologized and said he would take care of it.

So a quick call to Bob at the Door Shop and he has the French door insert on order with the internal blinds.
Should be ready to install next week.

Are the door tempered glass? Parents house back in Chicago on a course was upgraded and the entire rear of the house (all windows and sliders facing the course) were upgraded to shatter resistant glass. Used to have 6-10 broken windows/door a year, now it sounds like a bird has hit the window

Yes, its tempered glass.

I like the shatter proof glass idea, but I'm not sure I have the coin for that.
We are considering adding some golf ball resistant solar shades to the windows.
Another option is a 30' golf net, but it wouldn't stop them all.

We'll see how many broken windows we get this winter and re-evaluate.

Bummer!!! It looks like the glass is only 1/8” thick. Even with tempered glass it will break. We typically start out with 1/4” glass and go up from there depending on what the client is trying to do. Good to hear the replacement is a quick turn around. It would take 6 weeks to get that to the islands.

We are definitely in the "sweet spot" LOL
Most golfers see how narrow the 3rd fairway is and focus on a straight shot instead of mashing it.
But there are always the guys with the oversize drivers that can't hit straight...

What really gets interesting is when the girls high school golf team comes through...

Yep. I have played a lot of golf where there are houses. Best to own a home at the tee box, or near the green. Mid fairway gets the hard line drive snap hooks. :)

I wish I could have. Vacant Lots for those areas were $250k plus! Crazy

You get a lot of chit chat at the tee box and green though. We don't hear anyone talking, except to yell Four! lol

Damn that sucks ! Assuming that’s an in-swing French Door, what about adding an out - swing storm door with heavier screen instead of glass ? Year round protection from hacks, but in Fall and winter you can open the French doors and have screens .

I tried to get some screens from riverfront screens. They came out and measured but never came back to install and won’t return our calls.

It was not me.

We have Armor on contract for 150’ of netting. Poles should be installed in a couple more weeks. Hopefully!

We got our side of the wall scratch coated by Joe at Hawkeye plaster. Should get the color coat done just before the net goes up.

Color coat is going on today. Scratch coat is fully cured.
The first coat goes on pretty fast.

The second coat gets applied with more finesse.

Thought I should update this thread.

We got the golf net put up in May and it’s working great. No more balls in the yard, now they bounce off the net and into my neighbors yard. Sorry Jeff.

Armor fence did the work. It’s 30’ high x 155’ long in a L shape. Visibility is great too, doesn’t block the view.

Thank you, we really love the house. It’s very peaceful along the golf course. We enjoy listening to the birds sing in the morning on the back patio.

Well the time has finally arrived...we accepted a full price offer on the Oasis Monday. :( Hated to do it but I need to be closer to work and Raytheon is footing the bill. My pipe dream of telecommuting has not materialized.

We are providing a 1 year home warranty for the buyers. They are super nice people, local to Havasu. They have 10 days to get the home inspection and if they find anything we will remedy or negotiate off the price to expedite. Once conditions are met on the inspection the relocation company Cartus cuts us a check less my mortgage payoff and the solar loan.

I could have money in hand in 2 weeks!!! Crazy how fast it is. Cartus will then proceed to sell the house to the buyers after I’m out of the picture.

House shopping on Friday!

Thanks! Congrats to you also!
Did you buy an existing home or a dirt lot?

Lots are getting very scarce these days.
We just got a corner lot at acoma and Saratoga. Cheers neighbor.
