Catalina Ski Race this Saturday. Should be a great time and sounds like a good turnout!

What....no staggered start? "Little boats" not getting the 7-minute headstart? How many entries so far? It would be great if LBBSC would post a pre-race entry list so we could see who is running. If you're going to participate or attend the race on Saturday, check the road closures that morning - it will make getting to the race site and launch a challenge. Big thumbs up to Parker Oil who is this year's title race sponsor.

I’m in a small boat so not looking forward to getting tossed around. Last I heard it was around 55 boats. That was 2 weeks ago.

Where is the best place to spectate from land? I haven’t been in probably 10 years, but I’m looking forward to it

What time does the Queen Mary open on Saturday, how early do I need to be there to get on board?

We have 36 so far, 35 are on the list. I have one that needs clarification on what class they intend to run. Expecting maybe 50 total.

Wow.....35 entries so far -- hope you reach the 50 mark by Driver's meeting on Friday afternoon. I'm sure it will be another great race, but miss the days of 110 to 120 on the starting line. Looks like 10 Aussies in the field which is good but not the numbers of the past. What's happened to the rest of the international bunch -- England, Italy, New Zealand, Belgium, France, etc.? Appears this will be another Haig vs. Gully showdown for the overall -- maybe Proctor too but don't know what his condition is. Hope it's another safe one for all.

The world championships are in France this September, worlds years always hurt our participation from OZ and Europe. Cool that Sabine is skiing the CSR again. Two years ago her ankle was seriously jacked and she still gave it a go. Tough girl. If Peter thought he had the legs for the overall he would be signed up in Men's Open, but ya never know he's a hell of a skier. Will get some more from OZ on Friday.

No change from yesterday. I can't make any promises but I will try to post the final list tomorrow evening.

Ton of the ‘small’ boats are already boxed up in containers and headed to France for the worlds.

Last year there was no charge. Headed out the door for there in 15 min.
That might be the case, I might be thinking drinks. I tend to have a few of those while I’m there so details could be lost.

Can someone that's there post some pics or videos please? I've always wanted to see this. The guy that owns the local car wash used to do this on a waterski when he was younger.

So far it looks like no charge. Boats started to assemble at the start/finish at 8.

Serious question..does he ever lose?
Todd is an amazing athlete, dedicated to his craft. Yes, he does. Last year Been Gulley, and the year before Wayne Mawyer won, both from Australia.
This year marks Todd's 14th overall win. Simply amazing. I don't think you will ever see anyone best his record of 14.
Congrats to Todd, Randy, Dennis and Steve! Team 191
