View attachment 788617 It’s after 5:00 McMaster Carr is closed and we’ve only got 4-10mm trim screws in the shop and this plane leaves in 20 minutes! What do we do boss? Go to my tool box and grab the shiny duct tape! This should hold it to Dallas, they say they have a ¾ box full of 10mm trim screws over there!

When done, those guys should have put 3 or 4 more strips of that tape on the pilon.........make it look like the engine is taped on :)

I used to have a roll of that stuff... It is awesome. It is very thin gauge aluminum with a stupid sticky glue. We used to call it 600 mph tape.
Well there is standard foil tape, which is what that appears to be, and there is Hardcast. Both have aluminum foil outer layers, but the Hardcast has a mastic like adhesive that is stickier than damn near any substance known to mankind. We use both for A/C work. I prefer to use Hardcast for exposed outside ductwork as I feel the foil helps to maintain the seal better over time.

I remember doing that when I was about 5yrs with 2 pieces of wire and a light bulb. Bulb popped but I didn't and still have both my eye balls. Oh I forgot to mention it was a brake light bulb. M

Used a church key bottle opener in a open light socket when I was 4 or 5. Was playing "truck driver" until the arc (mini explosion) burned the skin off my hand.

As a young teen, I was ironing my clothes one day and decided to heat up a metal hanger on the iron and then watch it steam under running water. It was pretty cool. The second round while holding the hanger to the iron, I grabbed the faucet and quickly discovered that electricity was running through the metal base of the iron.

I hate to fess up to this ! (not electrical) when I was about 9-10 years old me and my buddy picked up an old out-board engine that was sitting for awhile that was full of gas. So my friend and I decided to drain the gas and dispose of it to use fresh gas. THINKING SWIFTLY lets poor it down the man hole cover!!!!. This is were it gets ugly, Hey lets drop a match down the small hole! Now mind you this was back in the 60's. Gas was better then and we still had street lights. I have never seen a man-hole cover fly over a street light ( knowing they are very heavy). Now comes the ironic part, my buddies dad was the captain @ H.B.F.D and my father owned a gas station. That was the worst ass whoppin I ever got. Mark
