Seen quite a few of them lately.
Seems like a cool deal if you can leave them up

Anyone using one? Pros? Cons? Cost and who does them?

We currently have three biminis in the family and I can clearly say the mess with stainless is the way to go if you ever want to do over 45 with it up. Our cheap aluminum with vinyl cover maxes at 35 mph wind speed before scaring me (If the wind is blowing 20 at you then you can only cruise at 15 or put it down). The stainless with cloth is solid to 50 mph wind speed but the stainless with mesh (approx 10" wide mess) I haven't found my limit. Boat does an honest 65 and even with a decent headwind I have felt comfortable. Just for reference, All three biminis have straps not poles.

Had one on our Top Gun that was 90% UV blockage. Boat ran 85 and the bimini was rock solid. Only used on the lake though, the ocean would have ripped it off of the boat.

FYI.. My wife is very fair skin and she actuall likes the cloth without mesh the best. She doesn't like anything over 45 and the mesh does let in more sun. Actually, the vinyl is the best sun protection. It all comes down to how often do you want to run speed with the bimini up. I love the mesh.....

I have mesh now , I’m going to change it to solid , let’s in too much sun . If I want to go fast , I’ll lower it .
That’s kinda what I was wondering. I do like the looks and seems cool if you can leave it up but it also needs to give you shade when you need it.

I had mesh running down the center. Way too hot for us and it would whistle. I removed it and put a solid center in for the shade.

I just had custom canvas do mine. 70% mesh, 30% canvas for the color stripe down the middle. The mesh color options are a little more limited. Monica said it’s pretty common to mix the two. Uhh yea it’s been up over 100 mph, although wouldn’t recommend it. I think the wind speed issues people see with them is more based on who built it and the quality of the install and materials instead of mesh vs cloth.

Mesh strip in the center works great. Adjustment is key for sure.

Did both my biminis on my tritoon in this year excellent improvement way less stress on the frames when I’m at speed would recommend to anyone.
I did the mesh for the large part and solid on center stripe.
No increase in sun exposure in my experience.
Main Stitch did mine

I tried to find a good pic but they showed nipples through the mesh and I don't feel like a vacation right now.
Lol.....only one I have that I dared to post after a bit of cropping. Didn't want a vacay or a thrashing from the mrs.:p:D

We have a mesh strip down the middle. Does seem to help cooling at idle and takes a little stress off the frame at speed. Only drawback is the whistle if you’re at higher speeds and/or a headwind.

I love the mesh too but the only thing is it wrinkles and takes a while in the sun before if flattens out.

Yes on the black...if you look at pricing on EZ ups...Black is more expensive..and way better. I've had red..Iv'e had white and one night at the races I walked under a guy's black one and there was a 20% diff. I asked him and he laughed...who would of thunk it he replied...forward several years and with four black ones in my trailer...My Dad and Mom in they're 80's bought a Day Cruiser with mesh bimini...went with them and Mom got pretty sunburned. I took the bimini to our local dude and had him copy in black sunbrella...expensive but I was the new hero in my family...no sunburn and much cooler in the blaring sun...

All stainless poles and full mesh bimini. I like it way better than the canvas top.

My wife got the funniest waffle tan in hers one season😁. I'd suggest not having your S.O. wear them for their first tan of the season...lol
Agreed… They should definitely be removed for the first tan.

Maybe even the second…

You will flame me...but the best protection is black sunbrella..just like a black EZ up is the coolest underneath...truth

Totally agree - ours is always cool underneath. It's darker and less reflective. When we side tie with our friends we always end up under ours because its cooler and less glare etc.

Canvas on the Blue and Mesh on the white. 8' , great shade for driver and passenger. Breaths well and stays solid over 60 mph. This was made and installed by Custom Covers in Havasu. Went one week for measurements and installed the next!!

I had mine done with mesh in the center for my 25 Daytona. I love it. 8' long and now it doesn't parachute like it used to. All stainless tubing. I had it built to my specs $1100. I did all the install of brackets myself. Very happy with it. Just the yellow section in the center.
