Why do you guys call them Porsch-ahhhhs? I've owned one, always just called it a Porsche. Just curious.

Real porsche owners call them what they’re properly called....no need to mention the brand...if nobody knows what you’re talking about when you say you have a GT3 RS, then they aren’t worth talking to

I call mine a 996 SLi.... 1988 Prototype, first registered in 1990 and since the serial # doesn't match the year sold it is a bitch at DMV..

I just re named/registered it as a 1990 Geo Metro SLi Convertible...Pronounced Gee Oh....

When German executives of the company, when the Piech family themselves, refer to Porsche with two syllables, that’s all I need to know.

Or just ask a damned German for chrissakes.

The German guy in the video is right on! All my German and Austrian friends pronounce Porsche = Porsh-e. Germans also pronounce AND write the city Munich = München:p
Come on snooty Porsche owners, learn how to pronounce the Porch car properly.:D

I've said it the German way since I was a kid...……. My Dad bought his first Porsche in 1982. I was ten and at the dealer when he test drove it. The salespeople used Ah.... So I've said it that way since.

Most Enthusiast I've been around usually refer to Model designation. Example: Nine Nine Seven. Nine Nine Six.

If they have something with the Gee Tee in it, Lol, they're usually pretty well off. :)

We're going to have my buddy's 904 Carrera GTS-6 painted similar. What colour is your favourite?
First or second picture?

1st, although the 2nd is hard for me to see...
A homeless man knocked on a door in Beverly Hills and ask the owner if he could mow his lawn for some breakfast? No, the homeowner said, "The gardener comes this afternoon, sorry"... Disappointed the homeless guy starts to walk away and the homeowner stops him and says, "You know my porch could use a coat of paint, how about you paint my porch and then I'll have some breakfast for you..The Green paint is in the garage along with a roller and a brush I just bought." A short time later the guy knocks on the door as says he is finished. The owner looks down and says "You haven't painted my porch yet".. Yeah I did, it's still in the garage, and it isn't a porch, it's a Mercedes!!!!!!... (PORCHE SHA)

My buddy's is a late 60's kit with Porsche components. Still worth some $$$ but not like the #33 car sitting in the Porsche museum in Stuttgart.;) Originals were all silver IIRC.

It’s pronounced “Race car”

Our first was a 1978 911 Red with black interior. It was a great car!
Purchased it at Steve Taub in the South Bay.

My Dads car. Last car I ever went for a drive with him in. Now it takes turns living with all of us brothers.
Sorry to hear about your Pops but that's a damn nice ride!

how did you roll your 914? They were kind of a slug, even with the flat six.

I was 19, drunk and dumb. I was a mile from my house and came around a corner too fast and rolled it into a field. I lived in a rural area so I started walking home....got almost all the way home and a car stopped and asked if I needed help. I told them yes and then asked if they could pull my car out of a ditch. They said no problem and they gave me a ride back to my car. When they saw the car it was upside down they kicked me out of the car and said Fuck you drunk mother fucker....so I had to walk home again.

Thanks. He loved his cars, but always had at least 1 p-car. the reason I’m such a fan of them.

The day he passed we took all the girls out and ran them for him. While he was sick, every time we came to visit he would ask me to grab one and drive it (he hated seeing them sit).

I thought I was the only one who rolled a 914-6. I bought a used 1970 6 in 73 from Victory Porsche Audi in Burbank. Ansa exhaust, 5 point harness, Ginther suspension. I loved that car. Racing a buddy on Woodlake ave, hit the bot dots, steering wheel went sideways, hit the curb, rolled the car. I had to be rolled back over by some people driving by. Harness saved my ass. Car was totaled. Always had Porsche's since then and I think the count is over 25. My latest.

Saw your car’s cousin the other day. Didn’t get a pic, but here it is. So nice.

I really envy you guys the own, or have owned these beautifully engineered cars. I've driven a few, 1 girl friend had one, and I've repoed 5 or 6.... None of them were the real deal like some of these are. A friend has a warehouse in Newbury Park with about 3 dozen "collector" cars. One is a Porrche sha factory hot rod, pretty sure it is a V8 and it sounds like a big block Chevy while idling... That is where the comparison ends.. Instant gazillion Rs.... Oh yeah, "collector" motorcycles the full length of a side wall in the warehouse, has to be 4 dozen or more of them...The family made a fortune in "software" way back when....
