The Greater Phoenix population has been rising by 200 residents a day as a result of people relocating, according to a recent Bloomberg report.

The news organization looked at net migration – the number of residents who move in minus those who move out – in the 100 largest U.S. metro areas, based on U.S. Census Bureau data from July 1, 2017, to July 1, 2018.

The figures don’t include population changes due to deaths and births.

Buckeye, Phoenix can both claim title of fastest-growing US city. Phoenix ranked No. 2 on the list, behind only Dallas, which had a daily migration growth of 212.

Phoenix was No. 1 in several areas, however. The Valley added 174 residents a day through migration in 2016-17. The daily net increase of 26 the next year was easily tops in the U.S. Orlando (12) and Denver (11) were the only other areas with a double-digit daily growth year over year.

Metro Phoenix also added a nation-high 62,000 people through migration involving people already living in the U.S. in 2017-18, far outpacing No. 2 Dallas’s 46,000.

The numbers should come as no surprise, as Maricopa County has been the fastest-growing county in the U.S. for three years running.

On the other end of the list, New York’s population dipped by 277 a day due to migration, with Los Angeles next with an exodus of 201 residents per day.

New York’s steep drop was more than double its daily decline of 132 the previous year.

With all those Flockers headed to Phoenix Az is there a need for quality Construction GC? Been kicking around idea of a division in Havasu and elsewhere. I would transplant good workers from San Diego.

Ya a ton of Chinese and they are mostly paying cash...

Actually the Chinese are now and have been selling property here in the US. The economy in China is suffering from the trade war (maybe that's why RDP is under attack)

Not here. I have become very good at terminating people the last few years. I have rock solid crew and subs now but long ways to get there.

This is exactly what happened to Vegas in the late 80’s and 90’s. Now the left leaning population of Vegas controls the entire state. Sad on so many levels.
Sadly I fear this is Arizona’s fate. :(

I don't think so . Housing prices are rising which will lead to people who want out because California sucks . The first wave that left California was due to cheap housing not because they did not like California . My conservative voting and income is leaving and going to Vegas .

I moved from OC to Gilbert coming on 14 years now and what was once a town with dairy and produce farms has turned into a city with all the farms becoming tract homes, and the traffic is getting worse everyday. The problem I have with the growth here is I work for the biggest home builder in the nation (by volume) so I'm helping to ad more people here. Guess if I didn't do it someone else would.

The SEIU has infiltrated Vegas and convinced the casino workers to hand their souls over to Satan, and lazy leftists are the other part of the equation.

At dinner tonight, my wife and I were discussing the number of out of state plates we see, and how lefties moving to AZ have screwed up a great place to live.

Now they're coming to the DFW area. The Democrats keep talking about the fake Mexican Irishman, how he lost to Ted Cruz by just two percentage points, and that they're going to turn Texas blue. They don't mention they spent $80 million during the campaign, outspending Cruz and Republicans by 50%.

A Democrat hasn't held a statewide office in Texas since 1994. I want to keep it that way. They are really hitting the Trump racist BS hard because the state has so many Hispanic voters, many of them probably recent arrivals if you know what I mean.

OBTW, I got a haircut today. My Hispanic barber is a Trump guy, says the 2020 Democrats will destroy the economy and they're all idiots. He owns the shop, and knows what'll happen to his business if they succeed in taking over.

I hope you’re right, but unfortunately not everyone moving to Arizona is conservative, many are what I consider to be conservative light. Many people are moving here from the north west and the north east because they’re tired of the rainy and/or cold freezing ass winters.

Well that's a whole different problem . Old people are like young adults . No job ! Just want shot for free and they pay little taxes so why not vote for somebody willing to give you free stuff . Good luck !

One good trend:
Conservative voters moving to DFW appear to outnumber libs [emoji106]

Exit polls suggest transplants voted for Cruz in larger numbers than native Texans...

Also, I’ve met more than a few Texas Mexicans who lean right. It was surprising at first, and I’ve posted about it, but I’ve found it ain’t uncommon.

All due respect to you and your state, this is only the beginning. It is the natural evolution of any major metropolitan area. It’s driven buy economic evolution more than politics. Politics, liberal politics, are a byproduct kinda like dogshit if you will.

AZ has gone from two republican senators and six of nine republican representatives to split senators and five of nine Democrat representatives.

The horse has left the barn. It’s over in AZ and as a lifetime financial supporter of R candidates in AZ the reason is pretty clear.

It’s only going to get worse.

Kiss AZ goodbye as a solid red state. The money has dried up for R candidates under the current head of the state Republican Party. :(

Urban California RDP'ers will find the following very familiar.

The Democrats took over Dallas County in the 2012 elections, and it's turning the city into a typical liberal urban shithole. Judges, city and county council members flipped, and a Hispanic lesbian became the county sheriff.

Just recently, some elections set the stage for a full blown takeover of the city by leftist fools. The long-time city manager, Mary Suhm, was replaced by an unqualified black outsider who is dismantling her successful leadership over the last 10 years.

David Brown, the ultra effective and respected black Dallas chief of police, retired, and was replaced by a black female from fucking Detroit. She is invisible and apparently an idiot too. She disbanded the vice unit for two years with no explanation.

Universally distrusted by all police unions, she has stopped communicating with them. Recently, she left her post without notifying the council and mayor, spending all of July and August recovering from a mystery surgery. I think she had a dick grafted on. Police morale is in the shitter.

The liberal city council has kept police pay over $20K lower than suburbs like Plano and Frisco for five years. As a result, the force lost hundreds of cops. The council just voted to raise pay to parity with the suburbs, while violent crime and murders have skyrocketed. Recently two Democrat council members received long prison terms for accepting bribes from developers, the fifth and sixth Democrat bureaucrats to get a free vacation in the last six years.

During the DJIA run from 8,000 to 18,000, the directors of the police and fire pension fund stayed out of the markets and bought real estate, almost all of it like a $4M mansion in Hawaii and other luxury properties, some in Europe, which of course they had to inspect. A multi-million dollar purchase of hundreds of acres in Idaho was sold for less than half of the original cost.

The scheme lost over $500M of the $2.27B fund's value, then the pension board initiated the infamous DROP withdrawals like California did, with a guaranteed 8% return. This cost another $500M before the bleeding was stopped, and the state legislature had to inject $1B into the fund to keep it from collapsing. From the WSJ:

A series of aggressive real-estate bets from Hawaii to Paris and a conflict over the value of those properties triggered more than $500 million in losses, leaving the fund with enough to pay just 45% of future benefits. Officials are warning the pension could go broke by 2027.

Dallas adopted that strategy well before the crisis, adding luxury homes and shopping centers in Hawaii, student housing in Texas, and raw land in Idaho and Colorado, records show. Longtime trustee Jerry Brown said the goal was to diversify the fund’s portfolio for protection during downturns in the stock market. For 10 years, Dallas has had the highest percentage of assets in real estate of any of the about 150 plans tracked by the Public Plans Database. Pension officials traveled as far as Australia and Abu Dhabi to scope out prospective investments, according to a 2008 newsletter.

The Democrat DA elected in November 2018 suspended the cash bail system, and announced they would no longer prosecute property thefts below a $750 threshold and public trespassing laws, pretty much following California Prop 47. The results are becoming obvious, with a large increase in crimes by the growing homeless population. Small business owners have been told tough shit.

The just elected black liberal mayor is instituting policies that are straight from LA and SF, and I expect similar results. Any day now feces will begin appearing on sidewalks.

My identification of the above mentioned people is meant to show the extent of the new progressive agenda in Dallas, not to disparage any individual based on their race.

The destruction of the 9th largest city in America by liberals has begun.

It's driven by one of the mysteries of urban voting. Poor inner city residents continually vote for Democrats, and get more corruption, poverty, and failed schools, along with rape, robberies, and murders in exchange.

Your "natural evolution" is on display in Chicago, Baltimore, and other large urban areas, and Californians get a bonus of needles and shit for their stupidity.

You can't on one hand, have a republican state and city government insentivise the largest tech and finance companies like google, amazon, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan, with tax incentives and give aways... Then scrape the desert clean and build tract homes, push out agriculture, while advertising cheap affordable housing... then complain about "the liberals" changing Arizona.

I have lived here for 30 years and watched the population steadily grow from 4 million to pushing 8 million. I am ok turning the state over to my Arizona born native children for whatever they want to do with it as I am living out my final 25 years or so...

As my third generation native Arizona partner used to say, “I can’t believe they tore up the desert north of Central and Thomas.” :)
