Hi, a dear family friend that is aging has 3 vintage Jaguars he is looking to sell. He had contact with a collector that was interested in all 3 but the person ran into financial difficulty and couldn't even afford the plane ticket to come and see them much less make an offer. Does anyone on the board know any collectors or retailers of vintage Jag's that might be interested in the purchase of 3 cars in a package deal?

Here is the info that I have on the cars. They are on the west coast of Florida. All are covered and garage stored but have not been driven for several years. I don't have any pics. The seller is not in any distress that he needs to liquidate the cars but feels at his present age it's past his prime ownership opportunity.

Thanks for the help!

Don't know the value but my grandson and I (he's 2) were walking over to get a shake last night and in the parking lot was a XKE coupe, yellow and chrome knock off wires, stunningly beautiful car. Had to stop twice to check it out. I always think of the movie Silver Streak when I see one of these, there's some nice long shots of one in it.

Good luck.

They could list them on bringatrailer.com. Great auction site.

I was going to suggest bring a trailer.

I'm looking for an XJ12 the 12 cylinder version of the XJ6. So I like them. Its tough to find nice examples these days.

If it was closer, I'd look at the 71 XKE, the other two aren't worth much, especially been sitting too long.
You can use Hagerty's site, pretty accurate on values.Or Hemmings.
Manual roadster is lot more than any auto for starters. 12 cyl vs 6cyl. Condition is a huge factor too, between 60K-120K, the list goes on.
This one is a low priced, hence it's an auto and not the most fave colour https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/jaguar/xke/2313159.html

Personally, I like 60's Jags with straight six like this one;)https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/jaguar/e-type/2196576.html#&gid=1&pid=1

I drove a customer's roadster for a while. Had Weber's ,cam , headers. Red.
As much as I didn't want to drive it, mid life sugar daddy effect, I have to admit it was a blast to drive.

Spectras pretty much nailed it, not to mention you still need to see the XKE in person. So expensive to repair, condition is everything on this car. Miles are a bit high to bring top$.

XJ6's here are a dime a dozen. Therefore even in good shape with low miles, they don't bring much. I had an 1986 XJ6 for awhile back in the 1990's. They where cheap back then and are still around the same price today. If its been sitting even with low miles, its not worth much.

Is the e-type a convertible or a hard top? Huge difference in value between the 2. The 12 cylinder versions are worth less than the 6 cylinder.

Both XJ6's are not worth much, couple of grand each if they are really nice.

Sadly old Jag's are really not worth what they used to be, first however you'd want someone who knows them to assess the condition, even to give you a ball park.

I worked in Topanga Canyon and a guy there needed my old truck to move some stuff to Wash St.. He left me his "E Type" Jag conv. to drive for a week... 6 cl w/ multi carbs, (I thought it was 3 carbs, maybe just two). It took a while to get use to the long hood, but it was a ball to drive and cruise the blvd in town after work... If I close my eyes I can still smell the leather interior.... "British Racing Green", brown leather....

The cost to move the XJs from Florida to the West Coast to any specialist out here is about what they are worth.

The 71 is a less desirable year / model for Es.

My recommendation would be to get a new battery and gas in the XJs and see if you can get them running. Then sell them local on craigslist to see if you can find somebody that thinks they are getting a deal for a Jag at $3k... BTW - White / red is not a desirable jag color combo - that one will sell for less. The reality is those aren't "Vintage" Jags - those are old used cars.

The E could possibly be worth somebody dealing with it depending on a lot of variables, as has been mentioned already. I would consider bringing it to an auction like Mecum or BJ - they have auctions in Fla. and hope to sell it to some unsuspecting person as a barn find. Real collectors won't be interested in that car.

Lastly, the idea of storing these cars covered in a humid environment like Fla. would have me worried about how they have held up... the description provided does not inspire confidence in me if I were a buyer for these cars.

The only one with value is the series 3 xke. Without knowing if it has rust, auto, coupe, condition. I'd say around 8,000 to10,000 range and up if its not full of rust. It could be worth more if in really good condition, roadster and manuel trans.

Thanks for all the replies! Dam it's really hard typing with Mandelon's signature right above :D I'll pass the info to the seller and let him figure it out. Hell, he is the retied one here. I personally don't have any skin in the game other than hoping he gets a fair price for his cars that he owned for a long time. He is very aware that the E type is the most valuable of the 3 (if valuable is even the right word). I have seen them but never drove or ridden in any of them. From what I saw, the XKE was not in all the great of condition but the other 2 were better. Although he did tell me he won a couple of local car shows with the E type. The dude is pretty old like pushing 80 and he thought he had a buyer that was going to show up, write a check and haul them away so I think that's what he still really wants. He did tell me he is working on the E type to get it running with help from a friend since the seller is not very mechanical. They are all hardtop. I think the XKE is manual trans but I don't remember about the other 2. The E type is definitely a cool car that I wouldn't mind owning myself if I had the finances and all.

A hard top E type typically goes for mid twenties to mid forties depending on condition. When the top goes down, the price goes up!

I love the Jags, however, if I could find an AC Bristol in really good condition for a reasonable price I might be interested .
I would also be interested in a Sunbeam Tiger for the right price.
If not I will still love my original numbers matching 1967 Pontiac GTO.
Cheers
An AC Bristol would be more valuable than a 1971 12 cyl XKE:). Actually, since the OP mentioning this XKE could be a coupe, it could sell for someone wanted to track it.;) The 6cyl handle much better and maintain easier in any E-Type. So, what I'd do, keeping the 12 cyl in the corner of my garage and transplane a six in for track duty.

I have a buddy in Albuquerque that owns a Tiger with 7,400 miles on it. I haven't driven it, can't fit my big ass behind the wheel.
