Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti aide Breelyn Pete told Politico that a "very large delegation" of Trump administration officials were in town to discuss the matter.

Handle it. You need a win.
I don't know where one would start other than taking down the bird feeder and start enforcing some laws to recreate order.
I will say it is a win we all need. A Yuuuge one at that.
The "Homeless make up" includes so many individual stories. I bet the first thing that would happen is the ACLU would step in and say rights were being violated just because of the way people would have to be divided up to get them the proper help.
If the Left would help instead of propel the situation it might just get "Handled".
Open up your home or wallet Jen, let them in. ;)

Bigger and more expensive federal government.

Only Trump, his supporters and liberals think big federal government has the solutions.

This is a State issue at the california level. They alone created the mess littering their city streets. Can't blame this on the Feds because they want to stop a national embarrassment the last administration and the Libbies in Cali have created big guy.
In Tee Ball terminology, they would call your statement a Whiff. :(

Unfortunately it appears California is not handling it on the lowest levels. Can we agree on that and continue forward?
I'm willing to discuss it.

Homeless.... Watching the California super majority figure out how they are going to fix them with special housing, special areas with yellow stripes painted on the cement, special needle handouts, etc., is comical. The homeless in California is like an outbreak of feral cats in a neighborhood, they are everywhere. IMO, the only answer is locking them up or buy a pair of puncture proof rubber boots, and a respirator.

When there are outbreaks of medieval disease in the city streets, killings and attacks of innocent people daily, while the state is busy banning plastic straws, and allowing convicted felons to vote, yes someone needs to step in.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is your solution to the homeless problem? Or do you even think there is one?

He has absolutely no solutions to offer. (Not a unique position in here, to be fair)

There is a problem with homelessness, however a large one size fits all federal solutions crammed down upon states has never worked in the past and to believe it will work in the future is the definition of insanity. Local communities dealt with homelessness successfully without federal intervention for decades of America’s history.

Consistent with what has worked in the past, the solution is to shrink the size of the federal government and the taxes it collects, so that states and municipalities have the ability to raise funds and find the most efficient solution possible. In addition, when the money is raised and the problem is addressed at the local level, the local people have the ability to vote in and out those that are most effective. If California has a homeless problem far greater than Arizona, why should Arizona have to pay for California’s problems and why should a state that is addressing the problem now have to change how they address it to however big federal government demands. It is insane and as evidenced by the federal takeover of education over the last several decades, it will fail.

Further, the pendulum will swing the other way some day and all these big government solutions, and big government control of our lives will then be placed into the hands of the liberals. The end result will be that the Trump supporters, as well as those who believe in less government, will have to reap what Trump and his supporters have sowed in the form of a false hope and belief that only a large federal government under one man can MAGA as that one man will someday turn out to be very liberal and progressive.

Currently Cities with liberal leadership have screwed the pooch on this. Needle give aways and lack of enforcement of existing laws have created a huge magnet attracting more and more homeless every day.

OK, leave it local, but we then MUST police those who have their hands in the purse. Look at the 4 families that have controlled California for decades and become multi millionaires by means that are on the very edge of legality.. The Browns, the Newsomes, the Palosis, and the Fienstiens..All filthy rich, all flaming libturds, all borderline criminals at the expense of actual leadership...Something California hasn't had since Reagan...Funny your "solution" didn't mention the real problem once, LIBERALISM...

How’s that de facto legalizing of drugs worked out in the Bay Area so far?

Un authorized NEEDLE possession is a jailable offense in all 50 states...
Time to build, and populate, a desert Tent City in the Mojave Desert NE of LA... Funny how libturds feel the word illegal means something else when used with alien, and the homeless are also above the laws... So just who is accountable to existing laws??

dont forget the source: "projected" "congress responsibility" and the big one, 5.5 percent as opposed to 4.0.
https://www.downsizinggovernment.org/cbo-report-spending-blasts

wirlyturd.png

CBO Report: Spending Blasts Off
April 9, 2018
The Congressional Budget Office has released new projections for the federal budget.

If Congress makes no reforms, federal spending is expected to rise from $4.14 trillion this year to $7.05 trillion by 2028, as shown in the chart. The rise represents an annual average growth rate of 5.5 percent, substantially higher than the 4.0 percent expected nominal growth rate of the economy.

The spending increases are expected to push up federal deficits from $804 billion this year to $1.53 trillion by 2028, while jacking up federal debt held by the public from $15.7 trillion this year to $28.7 trillion by 2028.

President Trump wants new spending on a NASA moon mission, but spending on existing programs is already blasting off for unknown fiscal frontiers.

Wow!!! Please tell me you're trolling with that post? I mean the first two parts at least. The last paragraph you wrote, well, that is possible you might have a point there but aren't we on that path already with health care, and maybe guns? Libs up north are the first to censor and cancel culture, legislate language, allow shit and needles in the streets. Want to talk about spending to, bullet trains and handouts on everything. That's ok though I thought as California has one of the largest economies right?

I don't look at this as big government to be honest. I think it's more of a political stunt for the up coming election to be honest. I wish something would be done about it but the powers to be up north will start crying and stomping there feet because orange man embarrassed them by doing so. Nothing will be done but hope I'm wrong.

One slight problem here Captain Know It All...................................the spread of Typhoid Fever, Typhus & Tuberculosis doesn't honor city OR state lines.

If the dumb fucks can't/won't deal with it and their voters are too fucking stupid to get rid of them, then the Feds must.

Oh it's totally awesome. You see, since they dropped everything to a citation now, all the crime has gone away. Stores don't need to lock doors at night, or even have security for the registers. The streets are totally clean, peoples cars and houses are no longer getting broken into by tweakers over night... it's been the best thing ever. In fact, I'm pretty sure everyone just stopped committing crimes. I guess the prohibition of the act was actually forcing people to do it in the first place. Crazy world we live in.

We don't have Trump but, we have the same problem with homelessness across Canada. Provincial governments trying to deal with the issue by finding locations to build housing for them. Unfortunately. homeless like to stay in close city limits where local residents don't want them to bring drug related crimes to deal with. There's no just big government involved, solving the problem as 530RL always brings up.He has every chance to bash and bring up Trump.It's like a broken record:rolleyes: There are ordinary Canadians welcoming families of hurricane hit Bahamas, offering them temporary stay in their homes, until more help for them to return. When was the last time you offered same for homeless, 530RL?

“Breathes there the man, with soul so dead,
Who never to himself hath said,
This is my own, my native land!
Whose heart hath ne’er within him burn’d,
As home his footsteps he hath turn’d,
From wandering on a foreign strand!
If such there breathe, go, mark him well;
For him no Minstrel raptures swell;
High though his titles, proud his name,
Boundless his wealth as wish can claim;
Despite those titles, power, and pelf,
The wretch, concentred all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonour’d, and unsung.”

Sir Walter Scott.
