It seems everyone is interested but shying away due to the fact is has a 3M professional wrap.... It has served me very well, its much more durable than a paint job and more scratch resistant than gel.

The boat was a base/clear from birth, probably a function of the capping process. When I got the boat from OCM (oh yeah..I got my titles) it had a multitude of mis colored repairs that I didnt care about, just wanted my first cat... without a 496... something that had some sauce.

Flash forward... when I had the motor out last time we stripped the boat made the minuscule repairs and shot with a Poly primer. I couldn't commit to a color that I liked, so my buddy that wraps Lambos, Ferrari's, Audi's came over and wrapped it. It looks killer, and honestly all those guys with the lame a** gelled in graphics with the fruit ckae colors should pay attention. 1995 called and they want their color scheme back....

Its also why Im not asking $72,500....;)

Location location location. You’re here in Reno, if it was in Havi or So Cal it would be gone.

Why a complete rebuild, and who rebuilt the motor?

The single bolt tab (that holds 95% of our oil pump pickups into the oil pump) .....failed. Pick up ended up in the bottom of the pan, very quickly. Needless to say, the motor didnt like that spinning at 5800 RPM. Hence the COMPLETE motor rebuild.

PFAFF/BACA MARINE
Gordy was gracious enough to get this done prior to full time involvement with TRD

Any ideas from anyone here in selling my boat? Is the cost too steep, is it to low (causing question), do I need to finish the paint/gel (if so I think I should charge much more 65-75K), should I part out the motor/drive/boat, broker in Havasu?

I think the price is very fair for the current market. I assume if you brought the boat south and listed it with Paul OD1 it would move quick. Good luck [emoji1303]

Hey Chad, we actually spoke on the phone early last week. TBH, for me it was the explanation of what’s under the wrap and correct me if I mis understood. You mentioned it was never “gelled” from Conquest under the original owners request. Then a second owner that had it for possibly 2-3 weeks caused some pretty bad damages at the docks. When you got it from there, you epoxied the holes/damages caused, primed it and wrapped it. Do you have any photos of what it looks like under the wrap? You stated the wrap is more durable than gel, which not sure I understand/agree and the only reason being is, if I’m tied up to friends boats somewhere, will the fenders/buoys “rub off” the wrap over time? Where does the wrap start and stop?

I was very interested in the boat and the wife & I had discussed driving up prior to our phone call. But I will say it scared us off a bit. Not saying it will scare everyone off, but maybe my ignorance of wraps in water is what did it.

Photos of the boat itself under the wrap might help my ignorance?!?

I will put up some photos of the boat in the paint shop this evening. As I told you, it is all epoxy primer underneath.
As for your statement "You stated the wrap is more durable than gel" that is not exactly what i said.
I told you that when I came out of the embassy suites in Sacramento and a 12' log was pinned between the dock and my boat ... OVERNIGHT... I was blown away that it did not incur ANY damage. I said that IMHO, I was amazed the was no marring, tearing or cuts and it seemed as if the wrap is more scratch resistant than a gel finish.
Hindsight is 20/20 .... a photo would have been worth a 3M sponsorship im sure, but you wouldnt have messed around either if your baby was being fuc*ed by a 12' nasty branched out river log.

Well after talking with many professionals, this is what I have learned....
Gel is designed to be installed into molds. Gel repair is possible to an existing gel finish but extremely time consuming. Doing a full "reverse" gel job (sprayed on exterior) will be close to what I am asking for the boat and not what is done in the industry. That said... Once painted, always painted so Paint it is, and white is the winner.

So, I will be back, HOPEFULLY a few months from now, same listing, updated price, with a beautiful white boat with a very fresh motor for sale. Along with a wonderful stream of images of the whole process.

I may even start that photo stream sooner than later....

Did you you ever find photos of what it looks like under that wrap? Posting that might help sell it as is just so people know what they are getting into.

Here are a few for you. When I peel the wrap, I will take many more.
One photo is of the original paint prepped for primer, one is post primer and one is of the wrapping process.
