If you like wine I would go to Murphys, from Sonora it is a short drive and a very cool town to visit, stop in at the Murphys hotel. Also visit the Columbia State Historic Park it was built during the California Gold Rush.

Also there are the moaning caverns on the way to Murphy’s and hit Ironstone wineries in Murphy’s free tour very pretty place the little Chinese restaurant in the main drag of Murphy’s is great can’t recall the name.
If I were you I would try to bum a ride at lake don pedro as it’s a few minutes away.
Also if you have enough time Yosemite is about 45 minutes east of that area.

Yep

Ok. So diamondback downtown pretty good spot to eat at. I also like Mikes pizza. Tap house with food called the standard pour. Columbia has a old theme downtown with a stagecoach ride. Black oak casino has a cool bowling alley. Lots of cool little towns. Check out some of the lakes Don Pedro, New Melones, head over to Lake Tulloch have lunch on the water at poker flats
