Yeah 100s of years of experience making machine shop equipment gives them an advantage over the "Johnny come yesterdays".... Even the antique CNCs will still hold the numbers way past their prime..... I remember finish cutting the inside of Hyd lifters with a diamond tipped insert, +.0001 /- .0000, ALL DAY LONG.....With very minimal adjustment....

Yeah, 100 years of experience making precision equipment gives them an edge over the "Johnny came yesterdays".. Even the antique CNCs can still hold the numbers. I remember an old one finish cutting the inside of lifters, (HD), w/ diamond tipped inserts, +.0001 / -.0000 ALL DAY LONG w/ minimal adjustments...

You can never have enough Loctite..

Hahahaahahaha... It became kind of an obsession years back. I had just about every locktite they ever made unless it was something completely out of the realm that I'd ever use. Most people think there's just a couple types.. Turns out there's quite a few for different purposes, and interferences, and temp ranges, and clearances and.. ;)

Right before I moved to Havasu I had a machining job that I ended up doing manually.. I actually held two tenths tolerances on that same lathe on a bunch of parts (repeatable). Thing is crazy rigid and accurate.
