Anyone know about this complex?

I wonder how old that sat image is? If its current then things are not going that well with the home building.

May 15 miles or so.
Google Maps says 47 miles from Havasu. It literally looks to be just a bit east of Crossman Peak.

That is the track where they were planning to have onsite housing at the motorsports park and then the economy tanked I believe.

Like a version of The Thermal Club I could actually afford :)

I think I found it on google earth but that image doesnt have the track, more like the dirt work in the shape of a track.

Are there SxS trails that go over the mountains? I see vehicles that go up to the big antennas up there.
Might be a cool trek over there.

Also nearby is another track... wonder when the last time chrysler had a car they needed to test?

Funny story especially if you know you can't get into the proving grounds
I go for a ride on my bike and pull up to the entrance of the proving grounds
I'm full gear, sport bike, and dark shield and looking where the visitors go
And the gates just open up
Cool. I ride in and see bikes and cars wizzing around the track
I pull up by security and go in and ask where i can go look around
Their eyes get REAL BIG and say we thought you were an engineer
Well, I could be lol.
They said ride on out and don't stop anywhere

I came across it last year on while on a SxS ride. Paved track with a few home sites around it. For a racetrack it seemed kind of primitive, not great runoff or grading, not sure I would drive 10/10ths on it. You would have to trailer a car in to the track from i40 or 93, all dirt roads around there.

Its pretty cool if you actually look at everything in this picture and think about all the different kinds of test they can do.

Everything from very high speed long runs to skid pads etc.

Just in case anyone is getting idea of going up to the antennas, we went up to the ones in parker. Great view, cool stuff to see, but we were on top of the mountain for probably an hour. We all had massive headaches shortly afterwards.

I think that track was called something else before. There was a thread on here a few years back about it. There's Youtube videos of some people lapping on it, and I think a plane landing on the long straight.

They test out there 24/7. I have friend that drove cars last year and another that man's the ambulance. He sit there for 3 days straight and has put on 1 bandaid in 2 years. But they can't drive anything with them there.

That particular trail is gated and locked as you start up the mountain above the top of Bison Wash.

There is probably a way over, I have not found it yet.

Last I knew that was a Ford test track, but that was over ten years ago.

Testing facility. I have talked to GM, Ford and Jeep testers at the Hampton Inn.
They usually show up @ the hotel around 8pm and are out at 5am.

Looks like it's hard to see from the ground level. But from a satellite in space, it appears to be very apparent. One might even say a kind of petroglyph-ish?
What's the different colored soil in the center of the track. It looks to have been heavily Disturbed. Like maybe even something crashed there?o_O:D

I zoomed in on the white colored area and could see heavy equipment.

We rode out there last winter. Cool looking facility, but it was locked up. You can get to it from Challenger and the north end of Havasu.

Off roaded to this place a few days ago, looks like they repaved the track recently. No sign of any new building developments on the site, no new signs or advertising.

I was just talking yesterday about taking a ride there to check it out and see what was up with the track.

I have to imagine they will try to make this a real thing at some point with the property values creeping up.

Sounds like a great idea at first, but as former racer....I don't want to be anywhere near a racetrack without medic personnel/flag personnel on site, which they can't possibly have whenever a member/resident gets the urge to go for a few hot laps. This is one of the few things where regulation/safety is NOT over rated. Probably explains why there's no buyers yet.
