what I've learned on RDP with purchasing new Toys..... I'm gonna finance at least for 6mo... just to make sure who actually owns the title to the toy... then pay that F.er off

some (not Insinuating Cactus) untrustworthy Individuals and companies.

Did I miss it, how come none of you brainiacs didn't mention Arizona is a non-title State, so if one has a legal registration in the State of Az. it is a legal boat.

Whoever paid off the city to build that place is a real winner. Wonder who owned that land.
Let’s build a mall so far out of town no one will visit it.
Poor city planning!

I guess it depends on what part of town you reside. It's not that far from me on the north side and perhaps the thought was to keep the traffic in a more isolated area rather then adding to congestion in the area near the bridge. Problem there is the pricing for business space which I've heard is quite high given the economic level of havasu.

It was rezoned owned by board members at the time just like cherry tree rezoned what happened to the hwy behind cherry tree that would of been a great entrance to the area

The major problem with the mall is that it is not a typical climate controlled indoor facility. You have to walk outside to go between stores. Stupid design IMO in one of the hottest places in the US.

Who ever thought an outdoor mall was a good idea here should be hung. It was pretty much doomed from the design......

It was argued about and lots of letters written in the local paper when they started it, but apparently it was too late to change, this was supposedly the next big thing in Mall design.

Outdoor malls like that make sense in climate neutral area. Make no sense in hotter then hell and colder then hell climates.

I guess I didn’t articulate very well but yes I agree, from the first mention of this mall it was criticized for being an open air mall yet they still went through with it I guess the planners weren’t planning very well.
You would’ve thought one of the city representatives would’ve said something like hey this is a bad idea here but I think they’re so desperate to bring in any kind of tax revenue they let everything fly.

Well, OUTDOOR malls do fantastically well in Summerlin and Henderson. Got to have upscale and trendy shops and restaurants, eeeerr forget it. Havasu doesn't want that, they are happy with Walmart. . .

Apples and oranges, you can’t compare that with Lake Havasu. People come here to boat and party in the summer not go shopping. Snowbirds come here and most are on a budget and aren’t really into trendy. The town really isn’t big enough to sustain a mall of that size. I don’t know maybe they were planning for the future.

The have the same thing in Rancho Mirage called “The River”, an outdoor mall with no shade, no misters, no awnings between stores and more of the stores keep closing every month. Originally no covered parking, then they put covered parking 300 yards from the most used stores and restaraunts....its a failing disaster.

The architect who stood on that empty lot in the summer and said “lets build and outdoor mall here with no shade” should have his license taken away. And the city council and planning commission who helped finance it should be voted out.

There’s an old saying, “a developer will build a mall in the middle of the Sahara if he can get financing”.

I skimmed most of this thread. The flooring company called JR Motorsports to go and get their boats. As someone else said earlier there is more than one flooring company which is why there is still boats on the ground.

In the meantime the boats were picked up, and are in a storage lot that is rented by JR.

F9144583-0630-4B75-ADC6-F424187CE2B9.jpeg

In a bit of small town irony.. The lot is owned by Preston personally.

To correct some errors earlier. Warlock250 is Todd and he is one of the owners of Cactus RV. Him and Scott were partners in the biz. I can’t even pretend to know why he came on here aggressively multiple times taking shots at Horzizon. Then in one thread denied even being a part of Cactus RV.. (bizarre?).

Scott has disappeared and a ton of cash is missing. Last number I was told is 1.3 million.

There is over 60 warranty claims that were never honored, and it looks like JR will be doing the repair work.

It would stand to reason the other flooring company isn’t far behind.

Word on the street is Todd is going to try to salvage the operation, but I’d imagine that’s going to be an uphill battle.

So then there may also be a criminal investigation pending for embezzlement? I have to wonder how many cash deals or cash down payments never made it to the bank. There may be quite a few people who think they legally own their boat when in fact the manufacturer still does since they were never paid. A very sad situation for honest customers and I hope the 60 plus warranty customers also get their problems resolved so they can enjoy their boats.

Thanks for the clarification.
IMO, Todd should dissolve Cactus (do what is needed to get $$ back from Scott) and start over with a new business name etc. Only way to solve it, is to make what Scott did very public and file charges to clear Todds name. Then start over.

The distance isn’t that bad , it’s the un- synchronized traffic lights that are frustrating. Also that mall was approved / built right about the time all malls in the country started failing, think online sales .

So what you are saying, is it's a great time to go Pontoon shopping at JR Motorsports?

LOL.... come on dave, you have to be some what believable if you gonna post on here.. my dad always told me … watch your pennies and dollars will take care of them selves... there are 2 partners right.... how fuc'n stupid would one of them be to not see the other took 1.3 mil??? I would Know if they took one tire.... but again,.. lets be in some what believable… selling boats for 59,999.00 which every boat dealer say there was no profit... but lets say there was 1 dollar profit...keep in mind ,.. power was paid, rent was paid, flooring was paid,.labor was paid.... that would mean that they sold. 1,300,000 boats and the one guy kept all the money.....pretty far stretch don't you think???

no, what he's say'n is it's a great time to buy boats some where besides havasu… the lack of consumer protecting makes it a gamble to give any one in the boating industry a dollar in havasu… makes sense that people wanna go to fresno to buy boats... if you buy in cal you are protected against lemon law,.. and fraud..... so in just the last few yrs we have the magic deal,... the ocm deal,... and now... 60 boats that can't get repairs done... fuc havasu and the bunch of crooks in business there...

I have some phone calls to make... I put a lot of cash down and financed a balance. Had lots of problems with invoice, ID numbers, MSO, and registration. Took way too many months to correct and get done. Luckily I feel that having knowledge of the industry and how shady things can get, I followed up on everything. I am pretty sure I am safe here on this, but gonna need to verify some things asap.

I had a warranty repair request that I waited to hear back on, I gave Cactus the standard "two weeks" before I reached out to Forest River directly. It then took less than 2 more weeks to get it done as I told them my expectation was to have it handed now!

Outdoor mall in Yuma, outdoor outlet malls in Barstow, Cabazon and Elsinore do just fine. Admit it people, it’s a Havasu problem. You don’t have enough people or transient traffic for a “mall”. If it were indoors it would have cost 10X more and closed down a month after opening. Wish for a Sam’s or Costco and start there, even Bullhead has one of those.

Sorry for continuation of the highjack

They built an outlet mall in Mexicali. Open mall. Dumb ass owner. We went out there and installed a ton of stainless steel cables running from one building to the next so the could put sails up high. Job had to be done overnight when mall was closed. Another company was there installing misters under where the sails would be. Damn we made a nice profit from that job.

anyway, that's fuc'n havasu for you....something happened and everybody thinks they know what....

.

...but I will say this.... this is why I wanna sell our home in havasu,... this kinda stuff is constant there... too small of a town that's busting at the seams..every body runs around in everybody's business.. in vegas or even California,.. you go buy a boat, and go enjoy it... you don't have people stalking and threatening you cause you bought at one dealer instead of the other...

.

Comical. This is the guy that titles his threads with all caps and daily reveals his life to thousands of random people on the internet in excruciating detail. Now he's complaining because every person between Las Vegas and Lake Havasu City knows what color his underwear is.

It's tough being an internet influencer.

There’s probably ten remaining tenants in Elsinore where there should be 50+. Far from fine.

So what you are saying, is it's a great time to go Pontoon shopping at JR Motorsports?
I would say its a good time to buy a Forest River Marine Pontoon from a reputable dealer in Las Vegas that is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2 months. I have 4 2019 left in stock and will sell them for 5% over invoice plus prep and freight till there gone no trades on this price or if I still have them next spring the price will go back up and will still be cheaper then the 2020's coming in.

I know North Pointe flooring company came in and pulled Coach and Berkshire. They may have Wells Fargo flooring as well with the Godfrey product but don't have the low down on that yet.
