I bought a regular cab 1996 new and spent some time and $$$ at traders. There was another shop in Los alamitos that was big at the time and that's where I first had a 2/4 DJM drop installed followed by a 5/7 belltech as I started making more $$$. I can still picture the big dollar all done up trader trucks at Selman chevrolet just like this one back in the day. The 350 x cab trucks like this were way above my pay grade but I loved shopping...haha
I remember an extended cab SB, lowered in a white with green graphics with a dmax. It towed the guys matching “show” 454 SS and was quicker. We had an in house GM engineer when we were developing the ZZ3 that had a hand in the conversion.Put a Duramax in it.

haha that brings back memories. Installed a DJM drop in high school. Rode like complete shit but got me low for cheap until I could afford to do it right.
yeah the lower arm program rode like shit compared to the spindle/coil drop.
I get that...But this is just nasty.
that's one of my best friends neighbor.. he own a air ambulance company..
he always has some super high cars and trucks at his house..
Original owner, '93 has 60k something miles on it. Came with 17" Boyds , changed to 20's and 22's a few years back. Took out the 2nd row bench and it now has 4 buckets with the 3rd row bench.
If you ever see him tell him to take the Sparks Motors sticker off lol.
This truck needs a detachable Grant GT billet wheel badly
My dad still has his Boyds steering wheel and matching 15 inch wheels in the rafters of their garage.I did just check ebay for a a vintage budnik wheel...haha
Everyone that's on the fence needs to grab one before they hit square body price. It's the next generation on the block....lol
You know it's going to happen
I found it funny that gas monkey aired a build literally a coupel days after I came home
This is why I keep telling my dad to keep his 96. In the not to distant future they will be wanted again. square bodies are my favorite but man have they have gone through the roof.
what color....If anyone is interested, I have a lead on a 1997 1500 (Vortech). Extended cab, 2WD and completely stock. Has leather interior, hard bed cover and has always been garaged.
Best part is........42K ORIGINAL miles. Absolute cream puff.
Guy wants $12K for it

Nice find. It’s not east to find a square body that’s been loved with period correct upgrades.
Don’t put 20s on it, because then you’ll have to put a matching raiders decal on the window.
I’ve been shopping for a 91-99 dually for a while. I’ve found a few that almost cut the mustard, but I’m very picky about what I want.
Yea the 17s and 18s look perfect on these trucks.
Even these US Mags would look great on it.. 18X10 in the back and 18X8 in front. They are a couple hundred a wheel.
Those 15 inch BFG TAs are probably like rocks LOL. They were when they were new!
They are new....The guy was nice enough to make sure the tire pressure was good before I drove home.
I got home and checked them and they had 55 psi in them...lol
