I volunteered to be a safety boat again. I had such a great group of guys with me last year, I hope to get the same bunch again.

Besides, since Parker is closed now, it's one of the few times you'll get to see it open!

The thing you don't wanna miss is the start. LeMans style start, where everyone fires off and blasts off at the same time.

Get there early to get a good spot on the shore. Blue Water Casino this coming Saturday.

Start time is Usually around 10am ish.

Maybe get there by 8 or 830? Depends if you're an early riser, or not.

We like this spot on the left if we're not hanging in the pits. Little dog leg in the river, old abandoned dock and a great place to watch the boats. They come maybe 20 feet from us in that little turn heading up river. 2nd runner up is the spot a little further up river. Both are good.

When we were kids we'd watch the start and some of the race for an hour, hop on our dirt bikes and maybe ride to P mountain and back, come back, watch the race another hour and so on. Back when it was 9 hrs long. What a great era to be there.
