Those of you on the fuck CA train.

Are your primary hobbies boating and off-roading?

I just don’t know of any place like CA. We have season passes to Mammoth for the winter.

Go to the beach 2-3 times in the summer.

Camp in Big Sur

Boat the CO river, lake nacimiento, and hoping to expand beyond that. We’re towing two boats to Lake Tahoe for a buddies bachelor party this next summer.

Routinely go fishing in the sierras and deep sea out of San Diego.

It’s a pretty spectacular place to live if you experience everything it has to offer.

We’ve tapered off of the desert off-roading so maybe that plays into it. I know riding in Ca can be a PIA.

Quitters are what ruined CA. They ran away when things got tough. Those same quitters will run again when things get tough in AZ, Texas and any other red state.

Yes. Arizona peace trail, just one example.

I just don’t know of any place like CA. We have season passes to Mammoth for the winter.

Flagstaff to go snow skiing

Go to the beach 2-3 times in the summer.

Arizona has 688 miles of the Colorado River. I think you can find a beach.
By contrast, California has 840 miles of the Pacific.

Camp in Big Sur

Plenty of places to camp in Northern Arizona.

Boat the CO river, lake nacimiento, and hoping to expand beyond that. We’re towing two boats to Lake Tahoe for a buddies bachelor party this next summer.

There is a few lakes in Arizona not on the Colorado River.

Routinely go fishing in the sierras and deep sea out of San Diego.

San Diego is still there, plus the Gulf of California for deep sea fishing.

It’s a pretty spectacular place to live if you experience everything it has to offer.

A few places to ride in Arizona, and most side by sides are street legal, so far.

That's all I got

Interesting, and I suppose there is a residual downstream argument for that.
But I think probably the cost of illegals, combined with the perpetuation of laws (and no enforcement of laws) that add cost to that arena through social services, almost zero accountability, and basically handing everything a taxpayer works for to illegals for free might be more causation?
It’s possible that entire sections of major cities and smaller cities alike giving junkies full rights to both public and private properties on which to squat to shit and do drugs 100% unmolested by LE or property owners, while again enjoying actual assistance to both procure and administer said narcotics via taxpayer monies could be a part of the cause?
Could it be that continual increases in taxation on EVERY aspect of both Joe citizen taxpayer and Business owner alike day to day activities, from the coffee they pour in the morning, the fuel they pump at the gas station, the electricity to run their 1/2 million dollar median home is among (if not THE) highest in the Nation?

What is an honest taxpayer to do when Sacramento is choking them out on a daily basis? What is the answer when Limousine Liberals have totally consumed the capital and there is NO answer on the horizon?

For me, it was finally the comparative “little” things. The Board of Extortion, DMV fees, gas taxes, etc.

But biggest of all was the celebration and approval of all the things listed above (and more) by the “people” around me.

This is the type of ballot measure we get in TX...even if it doesn’t pass, it’s in stark contrast to how we were treated as CA residents.

Proposition 4 (HJR 38)

Amendment as it will appear on the ballot: “The constitutional amendment prohibiting the imposition of an individual income tax, including a tax on an individual’s share of partnership and unincorporated association income.”

Here’s the deal. Big tech drives this state

Here’s the bottom line. A typical non-tech business has a margin of less than 10% on average. Mostly single digits

Meanwhile big tech and banking haves margins in excess of 20% and sometimes approaching 30%. All the while paying their employees exorbitant salaries.

These people can afford the liberal nonsense. They don’t bat an eyelash.

The problem is those of us not in tech cannot afford this nonsense. We are left to struggle

Cost of housing reflects tech salaries. Cost of living does too

Tech mostly votes tard. They have the money and votes to keep them in power

I have lived in NorCal tardville all my life and it is what it is

The video is spot on. But I grew up in the Midwest, lived in Alabama, traveled plenty in the military and I just can't find a more wonderful place to live than San Diego. Plus, I'm dug in deep by owning my business & real estate here.

Every state has it's pluses & minuses.

that could be bad for TX if not passing. High property tax and now a income tax.

Damn, need to look for another state to move the business too.

If this is accurate....that's a lot coin....on 515k, I currently pay 6,600 annually, Nor Cal. Are property taxes really that high in TX?

Depends on the location.

https://smartasset.com/taxes/texas-property-tax-calculator

“Property taxes in Texas are the sixth highest in the U.S., as the average effective property tax rate in the Lone Star State is 1.83%. Compare that to the national average, which currently stands at 1.08%.”

"Quitters?!" It should be obvious now that you can't fix California. I'd say the smart people left California and the remaining smart people will leave at some point

About 75% less than the CA income taxes that we no longer pay [emoji106]

In my trade, Texas wages are about 50% less then CA. Live where you want to live and deal with what the wages and taxes are. For me, I'm not leaving to save a few thousand $$$$. ;)

that’s what happens when a state is union controlled. Over inflated work cost with inflated salary’s.
Are the policemen, fireman and pilots in the union. I know the electric utilities are in the unions.

I hope CA libs continue to move to liberal places.

One thing learned from the last TX election:
Transplants voted more conservatively than native Texans.

Transplants were responsible for Cruz defeating Beto...if left up to native Texans, Beto would have been voted into office.

That's been my exp. I was shocked actually, I am way more conservative then most of the people I have met in texas.

I'm not going to let a bunch of yahoo libbies force me out of a state that I love. I mean it's 40 degrees & raining where I came from (below freezing tonight) and it's 80 degrees & sunny here. I sure as hell am not going to be bullied out of here by some goofy politicians.

I'm actually good with everyone leaving, it's freaking too crowded the way it is. Newsom might be the best thing that happened to this state.

The problem is the people leaving are being replaced with vagrants and illegals

Friends just left Carlsbad. Got 1.2 for their home and bought a great home fully furnished 20 miles north of Tucson in an inclusive community for $450k.

They say they are saving $40k a year and upped their quality of life X2. View from their back yard

Sounds like they invested well and downgraded to Tucson. Very common with the baby boomers.

Right back at you. ;):D

Nothing personal.

Everyone in this Republic is free to move wherever they see fit.

Some seek much greater freedom, low taxation, less crime, a responsible government, non-socialistic government, lower traffic, no fecal matter in the street, no drug needles, etc, etc, compelling enough to leave.

Simple as that

Yep. I agree 100%. Glad I don’t live in a area that has those problems. Or I would consider moving myself.

Where at? Casa Grande or Oracle? I'm thinking Oracle with the mountains right there.

I'm really liking Tucson so far. It's got a great diversity of housing and areas. Gorgeous mansions with incredible views, all the way down to retirement mobile home parks.

Oracle area. Big Robson community called saddlebrook.

Over 50 crowd but tons to do. I’m not up on the planned community thing but I get it. $200 mo hoa includes access to 4 gyms 4 club houses, 63 holes of golf, tennis, 4 heated pools off-road clubs, softball teams, 8 or so real nice restaurants......On and on and on.

I do not mis California!

Funny thing about California is that the ones being hurt by high taxes & all these insane laws are the very people voting these guys in but their minds just cannot see past the smoke & mirrors. It doesn't effect me at all to spend an extra 20 bucks a week filling up my car but these people on welfare, it hurts them.

We are entertaining the idea, but will find it hard to leave San Diego..... but the idea that we can cash out and retire any day is pretty tempting. I don't think my wife wants to move 20 minutes east, so I don't know if a thousand miles east is truly possible.

Some RV trips around the country would be the first step. But I do pay attention to many of these leaving California threads. Texas, the Carolinas and Florida are on my radar. So is Belize.

It doesn't matter where you live or the politics of the state.. The problem is always just population density. I have lived in AZ for 30 years in the same house for 22 years in the same job. My commute time has doubled, 12 mile commute takes 35 minutes. This place is full of people too.

I still can’t believe they started building north of central and camelback. :)
