Whats everyone running these days? I need to get a new set. Looking at putting on 30s. If i put 32s i will have to mess with the clutch. and I dont want to do that.

We run around town a lot. But obviously the rocky washes of havasu are an issue. Want a good solid tire thats gonna hold up to the elements.

When I had my ranger I ran kanati mongrels and honestly I was extremely happy with them.

Liberty are good. Everyone seems to like them

you can run a 30 without clutch upgrades

I’m running pro armor crawler, good for the rocks and dirt. A little aggressive for heavy street use

Have about 1000 miles on my Tensors. Love them. 30's. My neighbor put probably 3000 on his before he had to get new ones. Great tires.

I had Tensor 30's and 32 DS's on my 16 turbo
I have ITP Coyote 32's on my RZR-S

I'm sold on the ITP. They took a beating, over 500mi in Baja, and you can't even tell they've been off-road. No less than 10 times i hit something that I thought would pop the tire, and nothing. I'd highly recommend ITP or Tensor from personal experience.

Wrapped a 15” Method beadlock with the 30” Tensor Regulators [emoji106][emoji106] on a non turbo xp41k.

Ran lots of others but comfort, reliability, weight, traction and performance levels the Tensor Regulators were my favorite!

That is the stock tire that comes on the Turbo S, correct?

Had 30-10-15 tensor regulators on some dwt beadlocks. They wore great and took a beating but the car drove shitty when hauling ass on dirt the corners. I just mounted some itp ultra cross yesterday but won’t know how they are until this weekend. Local shop was saying the tensors are good but they have a very flat tread which is why the understeer was happening. I’ll report back. My 1000 has all shock therapy suspension and aftermarket control arms. Hopefully this fixes the driving issue

I’ve never personally drove with them, but this was a consistent theme I’ve heard.

UltraCross R are supposed to kick ass, they were my other choice when I got tires last time. Interested to hear your thoughts on them.

I'd wager this guy didn't air down. Tensors can be slippery as well.

I went from 32" Tensor regulators to 32" Tensor DS and it was a huge difference. My car is all shock therapy and i thought it did great in the desert, then changed to the DS tire and that made a huge improvement, I believe the DS is still the lightest 32" tire on the market and the radius design just flat works in the desert. The DS has 2 compounds available, i went with the harder compound due to a lot of street driving and they are still wearing pretty fast..... The Tensor DS are pretty spendy compared to an ITP ultracross which in my research i concluded was the only equal to the DS for serious desert riding. If cash is no object the DS light weight is hard to beat really helps the suspension work. The ITP is a really close second and supposedly has much greater tread life and a lot less $.

Hope that helps.

Yes they can. RD has 34’s on his @DLC has 35s.

I thought Dave had 32s - is there a need to do the clutch or will stock work with 35s?

I’ve been picturing a car set up like Dave’s with these tires on it...

I run the 31" Chicanes on my XP1000. Have approx. 3,000 miles (mostly dirt) on them with about 75% tread left on them. They are a DOT Tire so probably a little harder compound than the standard SxS tires?

So it sounds like...

EFX Motohammers
31" Chicanes
32" Tensor regulators
32" Tensor DS
ITP ultracross
UltraCross R
30x10x15 Regulators
Kanati Terra Masters
30 inch Liberty
32 chicanes
ITP Coyote 32's
pro armor crawler
kanati mongrels

Might be the way to go...

But probably not the BF Goodrich - they might be too heavy.:)

Funny part is that the bfg and tensors are only 2 lbs different. Bfg weighing less according to the website

He’s got 34x9.5x15.

I’m not a Can Am expert, but they seem to run the 35’s stock. But I’d say a clutch kit will perk it up a bit, and mindful driving will make it live.

You’ll want to keep an eye on the total weight of the wheel/tire package to maximize performance.

I have the ITP UltraCross and love them. I’m a big fan of running a tire with no shoulder and these haven’t disappointed. I’m not sure I’d want to run them much on the street but for our typical AZ & CA riding they’ve done well.

Those BFG’s look sweet! 40 lbs seem kinda heavy for only a 30inch tire

my tensor ds 35 are 45lbs and my DWT wheel is 15lbs, plus all the air the 35 tire holds has to add a few lbs - I might have to switch to nitrogen!
lol

what ever tire you guys run just keep an eye on the weight, I would go as big a tire as possible

my buddy runs 32’s on a rzr 4 seat non turbo
my can am max is a full on wagon

Im a little worried about weight, we will see. I was limited on options with the 14" wheel.

$617 for the set helped make the decision a little easier.

My 30" setup with the Maxxis Liberty and a beadlock 14" wheel is right at 50 lbs.

Three pounds heavier than the bighorn.

Was at Tequila Flats with RD and their are several hills to run there. Fun place to romp around with SXS's.
My Ultra Crosses wouldn't make it up any of them,, spun as if on ice.
Went back another day with Big Horns and no problem at all.

Soooo,, now it'll be grabber kinda tires.

Too slippery at any pressure but a hell of a durable tire:

The Maxxis Liberty sucks in the sand and deep powdery/loose dirt... badly.

Still a big fan of them for Havasu though.

If you watch the Matts off road recovery YouTubes the people with no-bite action tires are the ones getting stuck.
