Lots of stuff to get organized. That grey steel cabinet had to be empty so I could move it. What a pita.....:p

I have not put Christmas lights up for years. Last year I did it Santa and his sleigh crashed into the tree out front. I had the reindeer hanging out of the tree. Then I blew my Acl out playing basketball and was unable to climb the ladder. The boys ended up getting them down for me. Locals all got a good laugh at the display.

When poptart and I did that trip in August, I went through the hubs, new grease, etc. When we got back I had 2 seals on their way out. I repacked all 4 then too.
I'll bring the stuff along to do it once I'm out there. I figure a 2k mile tow is a long enough service interval. :D

Grease is CHEAP....

Don't forget, it spent a few minutes floating. ;) So I heard. One of the funnier moments of my August

Were the straps still on the boat?
I backed in the trailer a little too far to load up the boat. The current at that ramp is pretty strong and with my trailer being semi buoyant, the current move the trailer sideways and the tires were wrapped around the last post on the dock

Took the 25 Baja to Indian River years ago. Dock was not in. Backed the trailer in a couple times. The boat was floating the trailer. Scratching the head a couple times. Oh Chit, the saftey straps were still on. No dock thru me off my game. We finally got it launched.

Never shared this with anyone...My Pops was backing me down the ramp, in my crew cab Super Duty on 42"s...that makes a difference in a minute. I'd always light off the motor in the little jet, and he'd know I was deep enough and pull out.

Well, this dumbass forgot one strap...
Pops pulled out, and I made the quickest U-turn ever. Panicked, stabbed it, and launched. Sounded like a Pro-Stock leaving the lights. This was pre youtube and phone vids...thank God.

Cheeselands Unofficial holiday aka deer season starts tomorrow morning. Taking the weekend off to hunt. Don’t think the deer stand is going to be as temperature controlled as the combine cab. Might wanna wear an extra layer or two.

Apparently we’re turning off the snow long enough to have Thanksgiving o_O

I’m off all week, getting ready for Thanksgiving and trying to recombobulate the garage from 5 years of boat restoration. It’s going to be different parking cars inside in the winter and not scraping windows in the morning

So Hula calls and asks if it’s snowing here; I say, no.

He asks if I wanna have breakfast, I say sure. Then this shows up.

I hold him fully responsible :D

The ladies prepared an awesome meal.

Looks like my dog may enjoy pumpkin pie as much as me...:)

Three of the four mutts were having fun...

While the ladies prepped the meal, my buddy Crash helped me move my hoist. My MIL has had a couple of strokes and hasn’t been inside our house except for middle daughter’s graduation 2 years ago when I borrowed an aluminum ramp from Crash’s brother’s box truck. For some reason it never occurred to me to use my 4-post lift in the garage until this year. I removed some of Hula’s OG handiwork on the railing and it worked awesome!

She walked her walker right on inside and we all had what I believe to be the best Thanksgiving one could ask for. Drama-free, except for one dog deposit downstairs, and we know who did it but we’re not naming names ;) Youngest daughter just took care of it and didn’t make a big deal about it.

Success!

Hope all of yours were memorable in a good way as well!

Went in the middle of the snowstorm to pick up the youngest from her job last night. I’m thankful that I had her car to work on so she didn’t have it; the roads were terrible. The ride home was a great opportunity to discuss options and driving tips. HeadlessHula lives about 4 miles from her work and offered safe harbor. That’s comforting to us to know that’s an option.

I’ll probably push some snow around today and do some vehicular maintenance and go over to the in-laws to help them decorate for Christmas during the Packer game today.

This next week I’ll be emptying half my garage so Hula can do his magic when he’s back stateside. Pictures don’t do his floor justice, it’s awesome.

Tig welded some 1/8" steel to the bottoms of a couple of little jackstands.

May as well give the floor a fighting chance of not getting too cut up....
