went with the UHD.
I had the warranties backwards in the original post.
comes with 3 added 3 more for 65 bucks. covers everything basically except theft and accidental damage.
She's heading home. I love it when i don't have do anything. :D

I might have Samsung 60 Plasma for sale soon if anybody has an interest. works perfectly.
Just need to decide if the garage needs a tv.

I just replace our 55" Panasonic plasma with a 65" LG UHD.
those plasmas really can make that meter spin fast and you need an additional 12,000 btu's to cool the house when it's on.

I'm curious to see if you feel that your new TV outpaces your plasma.

Late-gen plasmas produced very, very good picture quality.
IMHO:
OLED TV > Late-gen Plasma TV > LED TV
And they didn't consume tons of power or produce a lot of heat, either.

My last-gen 50-inch Samsung plasma still kicks ass for picture, but the small-ish size relegates it to bedroom duty.

Yes to all of this. The standard LEDs don't do blacks so well. I have a 50" Panasonic plasma in the bedroom that we usually watch when the room is dark. Need something like an OLED to replace it so the blacks aren't grey.

Kinda funny. The game of thrones episode that was all super dark with the undead battle, everyone complained they couldnt see it on their TV's. My boss was like "it looked GREAT on my tv..."

Turns out he still has the 55 samsung plasma TV I sold him years ago. The *real* contrast ratio on those things is GREAT.

I've had that one on my list for awhile now. Deals keep improving, so curious where they'll price it after 12/2 when the $1999 price expires ?
I thought my 9 year old Samsung 65" was preparing to die, but after an unplug-reboot it's been flawless. Or it heard us discussing it's new-improved replacement and is just hanging on to be mean, lol :p

Not sure what is considered new gen. My plasma was from 2012. Great picture when the lighting is not to bright. It puts off a lot of heat. Wish I would done a little more research before I bought it. They prefer darker rooms. I can tell you I do notice a considerable difference. Well that picture on the phone doesn’t do it any justice. Lol

For $100 I would take it.

I’ll keep you in mind if doesn’t end up in the garage. Seriously. It is perfect condition. Needs to be wall mounted as I don’t have the leg stands anymore. And has been said. It ain’t lite. [emoji12]

With all the available great big block, energy consuming, over weight units out there mine sits patiently in the garage for its next life.
Stay tuned Wheeler. :D

Considering I have 9. Yes 9 [emoji33]already. Ok 2 are in the backyard. And all need cable boxes. And none outside are smart TVs it means another cable box. And I can’t put the plasma out back because you won’t be able to see shit on it. I know first world problems. Lol

I had been pushing the wife for a 75” tv for B-day and Christmas this year. But....last week things changed and the new TV might have to wait a little longer. I know it sucks to be me. :(

My question is it worth the extra $500-$600 across the board for a 75” vs 65”?

Ive been on deck for a 75” for a while now, but seeing the attractive prices for 65” has me wondering?

I still have my old faithful 51” Samsung plasma as my living room tv.

3 are smart tvs and 2 of those 3 are guest room so those boxes might go bye bye soon. And when I upgrade the two outside ( one’s a 32 and a 42 need two 48s or 50s[emoji12]) that’s two more boxes gone because I can just use my spectrum app.

One decision I didn’t have to worry about. A 75 won’t fit. Lol.

I just bought a Samsung QLED 75”.... black friday sale at best buy...
$1499, but I signed up the the BB Credit card and got 10% off.

Set up went pretty easy, I had to edit the color settings and a few things to get it where I liked it.
Had one issue, the TV would shut itself off every 10 minutes or so.

There app, had there customer support call me within 10 minutes, made a quick change in the settings.

No problems since.

This is the first day we have used it, Its a huge upgrade from the older Sony 65 we had.

So far I am happy with it, its a big TV...

Please share, what Settings would prompt the TV to shut off every 10 minutes ? --- considering a new 75" Samsung, but there's a 90% chance if it pulled that crap right-outta-da-box, it would be back in the store before it even cooled off.
I'm weighing getting the 75" Q7 at Costco with the amazing warranty if purchased with our Costco card, VS a Q80 at BB, simply for the greatly improved anti-reflective coating.

My stand will accept a 65”.
MAYBE a 75”. I don’t want to wall mount because it’s a rental house...but that’s really not a deal breaker.
My deal is that even a 65” is way bigger than my current 51”, but will cheaping out on $500 more dollars leave me still wanting the 75”?

It’s so confusing.

For me the 65 is big enough either way. I am taking back the UHD this morning and getting the 65 QLED. If the 500 more is a non issue I would be seriously looking at the LG 65 OLED. I think Costco has one for about 1800 price good thru 12-2-19. Plus a 100 dollar Costco card

You going Q7?

Most everywhere has the 65” Q7 right now for $1200 +-
That’s a GREAT deal no matter how you slice it. The OLED LG at $1700-$1900 is a great deal as well.
But if I’m hitting the 2 grand end of the scale it’s going to be a 75”.

The 75” Q7 at $1900 everywhere is $600 off. That’s inviting.

The 65" is going to seem much larger than a 51", the jump from 65 to 75 not so much. I've enjoyed our 65" for nine years and nine years ago a 65" was some serious coin compared to them being available for under $ 2K currently. I think over 65" really depends on viewing distance, in our case we're sitting approx 15' from the screen, so 75" should provide an improved experience.
One thing for sure, I seriously doubt you'll be kicking yourself for blowing another $ 500 for a 75" and you should be well satisfied for years to come.
If you get a 65", you'll keep stopping by the displays wondering, should I have ? :D

Probably the Q6 at 999. The Q7 I think is 1299. Still a good price. But I’m pushing it with the extra 200 at this time Always next year. Lol.

Oh just get the 75" Q7, it's a great TV for the price, will provide better viewing in a brighter room for watching any day TV than the OLEDs and you'll be content for years to come. If you get a 65", you'll always be wondering :p

Thanks!
That’s the shove I need!

BTW, I picked up $1800 from a slot machine in Mesquite last week so that eases the pain!

Come by and see the LG 65" OLED. One is hanging on the living room wall right now. Awesome TV. Had it for 2 months now.
