Anyone deals in new/used equipment? Possibly looking for a couple of scissor lifts.

Call Rick Hardwick @otay sales 619-671-1020
In need of an 30' articulating boom lift, any idea if they carry this type of lift?

Edit: found their website and viewing inventory now.

You can give Bob at Summit Equipment rental a call also.. 951-232-5944 he can get you dialed in, including maintenance after purchase.

Thanks Bobby [emoji106]

They’re likely in good hands with the Summits and Otay’s.

It’s difficult for the majority of the larger rental companies to sell off fleet at the moment. It’s rented as fast as it cycles through the shop.

We found it was easier and maybe less expensive to rent. Had 4 scissor lifts and maintenance and upkeep was a pain. Then transport to job site and back. We just bid the rental cost into the job.

We bill all rentals separate and customer pays actual. But rentals are becoming more and more expensive or hard to find across the nation. 1930 scissors are running about 1k a month and we have about 2-4 per job for about 10-11 weeks, then add all the BS fees the rental company add. Damn I can pay off a 1 scissor a project.

You should check prices at other rental yards. We have been using United for years. 4 week price for a 19' x32' is $380.00 with a $95/$95 freight.

About 15 years ago the owners at the company I work for bought a few lifts under a separate company name and rented the lifts to the company. Delivery and Maintenance was a big issue after they got older. Sold them all a few years ago.

maint is key on equipment you own. miss one pm and an incident happens and youll have ohshit (osha) crawling up your ass looking at everything.

as much as you are spending on rentals i would think an account manager would be involved and perhaps you can negotiate better pricing based on your usage.

The 2630 were running 1k for 4 weeks (i have the bill now) on my last local project in the IE....then $135/135 freight plus about $100 is fees. Sunbelt rentals.

Below are some earlier projects this year from Sunbelt. My projects are not local and I always have trailer coming back with material, so shipping wouldn't be a huge problem. As you can see pricing is all over the place. United has been the most expensive that we have found.

1930 in Frankfort Indiana was $660 4 weeks $130/130
1930 in San Anotino TX was $ 840 4 weeks $120/120
1930 in Hickory NC was $705 4 weeks $85/85
1930 in Worcester MA was $ 700 4 weeks $120/120
1930 Lansing MI was $455 4 weeks

Www.bidadoo.com is a great source for equipment. I’ve been to their auction house in Kent, WA looking for stuff several times. I think their auctions end on thursdays and are all through eBay. They have locations all over the US.

Go to United Rentals aerial yard in Pico Rivera, they just put some used lifts up for sale. They do this only in December every year.

We have used many rental companies over the years. United has been the best. The golf trips sure help. :D
I’m sure @RivrRats429 would buy you a round.

Always used PDQ, everyone else has been less than reliable. Even out of state, we've let them manage it at times when other larger companies can't deliver what they promised
