Yup, my dad lives one block north, actually right behind that little street that the boat is sitting at.

Badass little boat! Looks like it's already gutted and prepped for a complete makeover!

I'd be happy to relieve the new owner of that V6 johnson if it's got compression.

Those Hallett sport skiers are cool boats! Munch of room inside too. Pull the anchor off the transom and throw a 300 on it with some interior and you got yourself a nice little runner. Gelcoat..... Meh..... Keep it dock beater status. Less worries that way. (I actually appreciate not having to worry about my gel as it's so far gone)

Do Johnsons EVER have good compression?:)

Mine was at 80 before I got rid of it. All the Johnson guys were like, thats fine. Should run great. LOL

I bought an old beat to shit Lavey mod VP boat about 10 years ago that had what turned out to be a Second Effort built 2.6L....it made about 70psi due to the crazy port timing. Previous owner ran it once and said you need to hit the enrichener to get it on plane...Al Stoker said yep, sounds like one of mine or one from SE. lol.

Seems like it will be a fun project that could blow a budget very fast.

If you’re sticking with the Evinrude and it needs anything you can use Al of Al’s Outboard in Havasu. He’s retired but still working them at his home shop in Havasu and really knows his stuff.
Good to know thanks. I pulled the cowl last night. gonna need to be gone thru thoroughly. I have a 200 merc sitting I might be putting on it to get it on the water then work on the rude for spare.

How is the project going?
Slow. I pulled it off the trailer. 1000 grit the whole boat. Cut and polished it. Came out pretty good for the shape it's in. Cleaned the floor up ready for new carpet. stopped on boat to focus on trailer. Trailer is pretty bad so I sanded it down put a coat of paint on it. changed the axle hubs out and just need it to last a couple years. Soon as it's back on the trailer I'll start rigging. Motor gonna need work. I have a 200 black merc I will be putting on it for now.
