99-07 GM trucks..... post 'em up

Well, i sold the dually and got back into a SRW 1500. Had a soft spot for it, being that it was the same truck I bought when I was 21 (those were good times, from what I can remember. Same color and everything....like a time machine back to 2001. This truck is for sale btw.....shameless spam

Then.......i came across another truck @Deja_Vu posted in classifieds, that better fit the bill for a family hauler - full crew cab, plus a 2500 which i kinda need if I wanna pull the boat home or do anything other than just launching the beast. Did a turn and burn to Havasu Friday morning at 3am, and picked up this baby from Dennis. Nice truck!
Gonna do some new headlights, debadge it, remove mouldings, and get some tint on the windows....

So now I have a problem.....my driveway is starting to look like a Y2K chevy truck club. Looks like the wife is parking the Jeep in the street for a while

Before the dually, I had a real nice '07 classic 2500HD that i ended up selling to @HOOTER SLED. I initially tried to buy it back from him, but apparently I sold him too nice of a truck cause he wont sell the focker back to me.....

This scene looks familiar.......

Found a pic of my old 2001, from when I sold it in '06. 6" RCD lift, 2" body (all that just to clear 35's....seemed huge back in the day lol).

Not really a truck, but I had a super clean '01 tahoe as well . Should have kept that sucker too!

Got a clean 99-07?

How much weight is that? Most I ever pulled was 10k plus probably 1200lbs in the truck (passengers, fuel, etc)

Its a 15 year old 3/4 quarter ton so you can ignore all that, it feels like a tank and you can ignore all the ratings nonsense...

~10K stripped down bone dry, no passengers, truck totally empty on a 1/2 tank of premium fuel/Lucas magic dust at 1,100 feet of elevation... I only tow it 38 miles and its basically flat. It would never do it up any grade for any distance. I only move it in and out of a slip once a year for maintenance. Never exceed 60 mph.

I actually pay a lot of attention to ratings and have had my old 2005 through the scales in several different combinations over the years. It it now retired from towing duty because of the "Expedition Package" in the pictures above. The shell, bed slider, sleeping platform, racks, awnings and house battery with solar added exactly 1400 lbs of static payload to the everyday weight. It took it from 6400 to 7800 on the scale.

It does have the factory 4:10 gears and has provided 186,000 trouble free miles... I have maintained the 480LE with 30K oil/filter changes religiously, even to go as far as upgrading the xfer case oil pump with the one that doesn't cut into the case. IT does eat up drive shaft carrier bearings with the long bed.

It has been a incredibly capable truck for me as the original owner...

Yes it was. It was a private community with a HOA that was fairly lax but inevitably prohibited some great ideas from coming to fruition. It was at this point we decided there would be no recourse for some harmless shenanigans. Well, the little West Marine dinghy was harmed but to be fair it didn't sell at the garage sale so we figured why not....
