Let me preface this by saying I have done Desert Bash both ways.. I have been the front runner going for the checkered flag and I have been in the rear with the beer.

Personally I prefer being in the back because you can stop as long as you want, take in the sights (which there is some amazing things to see if you slow down and actually look!).

We played by the rules when they said everyone must roll in together to camp together. So Johnny 1.0 actually stayed the first night next to my house. Jorge met up with us first thing am and our group “mustered” at Sara Park south so we could all come in together.

When we arrived with all but one of our rigs. William didn’t take to kindly to me calling rzr owners poor people so he elected to go upgrade his trailer purchase and get it that day.. lol.

He showed up about three hours later and we all hung out in a staging area waiting.

Congrats to the Cooks on their new bad ass rig!

They wanted us to stack in like sardines side by side like everyone else, but we weren’t hearing any of it. We had seven camp spots between us and a camp spot is 40 deep by 25 wide.. We have all done enough trade shows that we wanted a circle so we could party in the middle.

Getting everything unloaded and ready fo party time.

TPC brought the Taj Mahal with him.. This trailer is as. Ice as I have ever seen and setup for anything that comes his way. Glamis to touring the Hughkights of the USA it does it all.

Some pics from the Poker run. This is hard to put text between pics now with this new phone update so I’m just gonna put them here.

Our group partied all night and virtually nobody got up on time to roll. The staff girl actually came into our camp with a bull horn telling us we had to leave or not leave at all is what woke me up. We got together as quick as we could and about six of us left. We still had another two that were behind, and we just said we’d wait up ahead for them. My hang over couldn’t take one more announcement from the bull horn.

I was on the edge of puking from the beginning until cardstop 2. BN’s wife gave me some aleve pills and a bunch of waters later and I was ok.

I gotta tell ya guys, 70 miles out in the dirt is fun!! When forty of those miles are washboard it really makes ya appreciate the time ya spend on ridges and hardpack. Lol

when I got back all I wanted to do was take a nap.. Never did get a nap though and now that we were back it was time to prepare our livers for taco night. :D.

I have done many events and it’s pretty rare any event (regardless if it’s boat or dirt) has food that I want to eat. It’s just too hard to cook that much food and have it turn out good. That all said I hired a taco truck to feed our camp. It’s a friend of mine’s cousin that is just getting his biz up and running so I figured why not?

everyone kicked in and it turns out it was. Very good decision. The Mexican food was AWESOME!

With everyone fed (and happy) the party once again continued.. I ran my little kids ranger 150 giving them rides up on the trails..

Gave a bunch of adults rides in it as well! Solved some world problems, saved a few marriages.. lol. Ya know shit like that under the stars.

I didn’t really take any pics of it, but this was one of just twice that my family has gone and camped out in the desert for the weekend. It’s the first time my youngest did it.

The kids had a blast and that Ranger 150 didn’t shut off from the time they woke up until the time they went to bed.. Even then I took it out. Lol.

Sunday afternoon everyone left and it was just the the three campers left.. We weren’t in any hurry and we ended up bbq ing all day and just relaxing. Honestly it was one of the highlights of the trip for me.

So for the overall We had a blast at Desert Bash 2019.. I never did end up seeing @Bpracing1127 or @LargeOrangeFont out there but they were in the front and we were in the rear.. I saw a bunch of different members in both nights and was surprised how many rdp hats and shirts I saw around the event that I had no idea who they were.

our group had a great pace where we were fast in some sections but also not in a hurry to go anywhere in others.
As for the can am vs rzr jokes it all ended up not mattering anyways.. The kids stole the show in the ranger with a ton of people coming up and asking them what it is and where to get one. Even had a couple test drives from other adults in other camps.. lol

We are already making our plans for 2020, and I think I may get up early to go run in the front so I don’t have to deal with the washboards.. Other than that I think the focus is on food and camping. I had an absolute blast hanging out with everyone and could have stayed in camp and been just as content.

We aren't doing that ever. :)

On Friday night myself and Preston were getting ready to depart late night and run the ranger 150 the whole course.. lol. It was game time, but we had to cancel last minute.

im gonna put a lightbar and a spare tire on it and next year we will be first. Lol if we leave at 3:00 am!

On Saturday night I had some friends come from Havasu and we ended up with seven kids in my trailer plus me and Stacy. Lol

It was a pretty epic weekend and if you aren’t staying out there you really are missing most of the fun.

Camping or night ride?

Dropping the ramp upon arrival and driving off into the night for 70 miles then circling around and doing it again when we return :)

Weather last weekend was perfect for camping.

And fuel.. and a spare and a sign that says “help”. And..

I think if we were careful though we could pull it off pretty handily.

Yea you'd be fine if you cruised. Lots of spilled beer though. :)

@Bpracing1127 was about ready to leave on a ride when he got to my house at 11:30. He calmed down after a couple drinks.. I think we went to bed at 2AM LOL.

To finish up our Desert Bash 2019 Is like to thank Karen Griner because other than the toy hauler my entire fleet already looks good as new. :)

She came over this am and took the wife’s suburban and just dropped my can am off and now just took my truck.

Yeah, definitely going to add airbags, I have a 2018 F-250 and am wanting to get a 5th wheel

Consider Timbren hollow rubber springs that easily and cheaply replace the rubber bump stops.
I’m fed up with air bags and going back to Timbren.
$200 and takes 10 minutes in your driveway to install.

‘Crept for one I Have them on all my trucks even the Toyota’s.

I currently have Firestone air bags on the 3500 dually and never again.
Always some issue and lousy customer support from Firestone. $1300.

The Timbrens are drama free, only work when you need them.
Install them with around 2” clearance.
Just takes a few minutes.

We have a 3500 Dually on order and if it seems like it needs help it’ll be Timbrens.

When I used to use 3/4 ton trucks for trailer deliveries, I always used Timbren. Great product and as others have said, very easy to install.....

Much better than air bags IMO...

My concern about the timbrens is that they don't level the truck with a load. They help reduce the squat but that only once the load has compressed the factory springs substantially already. That might be just fine if you're ever only using them to do one particular heavy thing, but if you tow many trailers and/or haul many different things you won't be able to have the same ride height all the time.

I'm with you, I get air bags and sumo's free and always go with the sumo's... one thing some don't know is you do not want your truck to ride at unloaded height while towing....

I'm with you, I get air bags and sumo's free and always go with the sumo's... one thing some don't know is you do not want your truck to ride at unloaded height while towing....
