Ok I think Nordic has surpassed DCBs 44 with the “longest bustle ever” on their 48 vee bottom haha.

So after you cut that off what is the actual boat length.. lol. Were they trying to achieve a swim step at water level when it's floating? Serious question, not talking trash.

Anyone know the running length compared to measured length (bow to stern via deck).

I think that’s the idea and they succeeded, it’s right at the water line. Would be much more useful if it spanned the full width tho, instead of having that hump with the logo in the middle.

What happens when you go to get on plain and are dealing with bow rise. Also say you are in some decent sized swells and get aired out and come down a little high in the front. Does that step grab water and lunge everyone foreword?

Will it will work like a giant trim tab and lift the stern???

Tuck a pair of Arneson's under there and hit the ocean. It doesn't really bother me when I see it in the water

In the RDP video with Thane, he mentioned this boat is for Randy the owner of Nordic. It seems several of their new models, Randy gets the first one. So does Randy have a large collection of boats or does he sell them when they build a new model...? Anyone know?

In this pic, I had an idea...steps up the side, and a slide down the center. Like a 140mph pontoon. Kids, grandkids or drunks...all for fun:p

You guys act like bustles are something new. Skater, MTI, Fountain, Outerlimts all run bustles for years. And have raced bustle boats. I’ve never heard of a bustle breaking or causing irregular handling in big seas.

The real question is why???

I don’t get it.

Gets everyone away from the drives/props, keeps the back of the boat clean, aero, easy for hanging out, looks cool, makes the motors whisper at idle and you still have the sound when running.

If it was any further back it would need a trailer hitch.

Bada bing!

They usually sell them. If you owned a boat manufacturer wouldn’t you take first dibs on the cool new rigs?

It looks weird on the trailer, but i like it on the water. Super functional. And on a V-bottom that big, it sort of bridges into "luxury cruiser" territory, where you see that type of stuff frequently in the production cruiser type boats

it’s a pretty steep angle from the bottom of the boat to the edge of that swim step. It’s never going to do what you are saying
