Looked it up, and noticed it is counter rotating system.

As a old manufacturing guy, the tin bending and engineering is incredible.
The woodworking skills for making the props is a lost art. No 5 or 6 axis machines at your disposal then.
Also check out the cav plate.

From what I read it was designed for the Russian Space program. One criteria is it could be carried in a cargo plane. The purpose was to be flown to Siberia.
Then to travel across lakes, rivers, marsh, wetlands or even snowy Tundra to retrieve returning Cosmonauts.
