The lake has been busy all week and most people are expecting it to be real busy this weekend..

Whether ya believe the virus is a hoax or not (doesn’t matter). Please don’t raft up with your buddies.. Stack boats up on beaches etc..

I have friends down in Parker and it’s pretty busy down there and I’d assume Havasu is going to be packed Like a holiday because the weather is perfect.

I plan on taking my Hallett out this weekend and look forward to seeing some of you on the water (from 10’ away lol).

Areas that are currently closed down to my knowledge..

Parker - south of Badenochs (and beaches from badenochs south) Below the dam if it’s Tribal land / water

In Lake Havasu the Channel is CLOSED to mooring. Currently you can drive thru the channel.

Lake Havasu they have closed the channel to Moabi and the beaches in that same channel at Pirates cove.

Have fun, BE SAFE and don’t spread that virus around the town!

Be precautious of gas pumps / ice bags / beer cartons / etc!!

The water level is down quite a bit right now.. After your post the other day I am hesitant about launching at Windsor.

Now yer talkin! :D

Yep, it's going to be a hit this summer. I am surprised Dave isn't all over this already. You have to make the best of the worst.

Which boat are you taking? Just checked water level and it is down a foot from normal winter level. I was going to go out buy now not sure my trailer won't fall off the end of the ramp.

We tried putting our 27' in the water at pirates den this morning and went as far as the rear trailer tires could possibly go without dropping off the
ramp. Approached it twice and then said F it. This is after attempting over at river island yesterday.
Going to try Havasu Marina tomorrow. If that doesn't work I'm getting drunk.

Well I was going to take my Hallett out today.. but Stacy got slammed with work, so I'm going to do some rdp work.. clean the garage, wash the offroad vehicles and prep it to go out tomorrow..

Going to get cold again next week so I want to get out at least one day this weekend if possible.

I'm still going out as much as I can. Even though the park service has the ramp to Lake Austin by my house closed, I still have access to my marina's private ramp on Lake Travis.

Some pics from my frankenboat trip a few nights ago. And also went out last night on my coworkers johnboat after tuning his 2smoke for him.

I guess I don’t see the problem with some guy launching and going fishing for the day?
Is he at risk of spreading or contracting something at his honey hole while casting his top water lure?

I attempted to launch Tuesday at the marina and the water level was so low, I had to bring the boat back home. My trailer tires were wet, boat was completely dry and I only had 5-6' more of concrete. I was too afraid of jacking my trailer up. Boat another day I guess

Last week... I spent a few days on da lake... made a few observations...
:Dsunny, warm, low key vibe
:cool:lots of empty beaches visible due to low lake level (the same beaches under water the week before that), so a pretty drastic change occurred
:mad:noticed lots of people on boats together hanging out with other boats

Some other things changed last Tuesday (3/31) when Lake Havasu City made the decision not to allow mooring in the bridgewater channel, to reduce gathering or exposures
:eek:Those previously empty beaches started getting used (as boats could not sit in the channel)
:mad:several boats with more than just their families were then on those beaches together (just moved the party)

As a group of boaters and enthusiasts we should be as responsible for ourselves and respect others the best we can.
Being on da lake last week, the only fingerprint I left behind was at a gas pump (and I had gloves on). Meals at home, drinks at home, boat in da slip.

Be smart and responsible!
Boating is not a crime, socializing isn't either, however it might not be as safe as we once thought of it to be. Recommendations to avoid meeting up and gathering with friends should probably not be taken lightly. Its just this simple (ask yourselves, if I am gonna meet up with some friends today, who were they with or where were they yesterday? increasing the odds a bit now maybe?)
Continue to not follow simple guidelines and shits gonna get shut down even more. Worse yet, you or a family member may end up getting sick.

share some ideas...
stop gathering... less handshaking
put friends and meet ups on pause... less hi fives and fist bumping
stay away from other boaters... social distancing is just that

:)

We had a great day on the water yesterday. Spent most of the day in Steamboat anchored out by ourselves. Cove was pretty busy with boats coming and going, beach was full and several groups of 4-5 boats tied up. It’s was business as usual other than no mooring in the channel.

Let’s hope we can continue to boat through this as yesterday felt the most normal for us since the start of this shit.

Never figured you for a closed bow guy Dave... and I see ship to shore radio down under helm.... I'm guessing you run that to Catalina.

Up north I have heard that Clear Lake is shut down. I'm wondering if I can get on the Delta. Haven't called the nearest Marinas.
