I think I'll use the Harbor Freight gift card they give me for the jacks and get some Chinese PPE. What could go wrong?

So whats a solid brand that can be trusted? Going to upgrade imdiailty ASAP.

X2, I'm under all my rigs all the time. Would like to upgrade to non chicom.

And how does this work? Return to horrible freight store and get current sale price back, or is a receipt needed from 20 years ago?

The really heavy duty, old screw type stands are strong as hell. Problem is, now I see people buying them for decorations. They usually had a painted iron base, and a steel Acme thread insert. The other problem, they aren't very tall.

Thanks for posting this, took mine back and got my credit. Of course, I spent it 10 mins later.

Total shit show. HF didn’t even know how to process the gift card. It took a manager and a Karen 15 minutes to figure it out. They still had jackstands on the shelf and tried to get me to exchange mine instead of the gift card.

It looks like my 12-ton units are good for now, but this has me wondering if they are safe. Thanks for posting the info.

I think you are good. What I read was that the Dies were worn out when these were manufactured so I am guessing the angles that hold the catch aren't sharp allowing the catch to slip.

I think you’re right about the problem. I grabbed these photos from a jeep forum.

It’s the size of the teeth... recalled vs. revised

Are those pads setup for Rockwells, or for frame work? Thinking Rockwells...those be some big tires out back.
I use them on the frame of my trucks and trailers they may fit the drive Axel but I have never needed them that far off the ground the minimum height is about 30" with a max height of about 50" Norco has the screw jacks that have been talked about and other stands like mine.
the tires are my spares for my 5 yard wheel loader they are 26.5X25 about 72" tall I have not bought any in years but they cost about 4000$ each I got a good deal on 4 with 30% tread and I have not needed them. this is it on my Lowbed

We offer a wide variety of stands including pin-type and ratchet styles with capacities from 2 ton to 25 ton.

@arch stanton , put those tires in respect to something else and they're HUGE! In the first pic, they looked like 54's to me, oops!
Biggest I've messed with were 66" floats, not nearly as heavy as loader tires. For doing some of the weird fab stuff, I have some pipe stands that are only rated for 1k, but have sliders, topped with threaded adjusters. I think the come setup to go as high as 40", but I made some chromoly slide pieces that are longer. I use them for holding stuff steady and in place to weld.

Once I bought a really fast motorcycle and then bought the cheapest helmet I could find. I started to think about it and realized how fucking dumb that logic was. Kinda the same deal with harbor freight jack stands, safety equipment etc.

Well said, I try really hard to buy USA. Probably save our life one day.
