Finished my last final for my MBA at Chapman last night. Loaded up this morning and cleared the jetty in Newport around 10:30am. Our plan was to head to the backside of Catalina. It was a washing machine for the first 14 or so miles with a strong southerly and a decent size west swell. Made it around the east end and got hit with the full brunt of the west swell. Bumpy ride up the island - first time I’ve gotten air in my 29’ 12,000lb boat lol.
Our plan was to anchor up in Little Harbor but the west swell was breaking pretty good at the entrance. Decided to run to Cat Harbor. Got a premo mooring and now chilling.
Got the award for best background in my weekly estimating meeting and got to participate in Chapman’s zoom graduation while enjoying a few cocktails! Pretty sure I’m the first to catch a fish during graduation [emoji12]
Hope you all have a safe and great weekend. I’ll try to update with some cool island pics as the weekend progresses [emoji1690]
