Need to replace 2 group 34 dual purpose batteries. Where’s the best price for these babies nowadays? Amazon is $275 apiece. Thx

Not sure about costs, but optima has gone down hill. There are a few good posts in the last few months about batteries. I just got X2 power from patterned plus.
but all this will be worthless if your billet battery boxes are for optima

I do have the stands that fit optima but I heard once they moved to Mexico, they went downhill. So what brand are most high horsepower, high stereo output batteries are peeps using?

I would say the SRM 31 interstates 210 min reserve capacity that's 210 min at 25 amp draw. The blue optima has 120 min reserve capacity, Even the interstate SRM 27 series battery has 160 reserve cap the optima batteries are ok for starting but not for running accessories.

I thought that’s why the optimas are good. Dual purpose for starting and deep cycle and can be brought back to life with a charge??

Don't be fooled by their advertising, look at the specifications. Also many of the optima batteries, because they are so expensive they sit around long before they sell. When I had my marine business customers would bring me those batteries to put in their boat and more than once I tested them with 3-5 volts, because they were stale and they would not charge.

I'm going to say i've had less than stellar results from Optimas as well. Deep cycle, as well as starting. I've moved to using Deka batteries and they've been beyond great. The set I have in my diesel truck is over 7 years old and still cranking as fast as new. I have them in the boat as well as my Jeep. Still made in the USA as well.

Anybody run any of the lithium batteries yet ?

i have not primarily because of the price, and i'm a little spooked about water + lithium.

BUT i will say I have been running them on my dirtbikes. They are only ~30-40 more than the lead acids, and they are SO light.

Odyssey, Odyssey, Odyssey

You are correct with Optima, when purchased they were relocated south, and the same thing happened to quality.
Odyssey is what Optima used to be, only better.

Looks like I’m gonna have to buy new battery stands then to. Gotta love boating. I might sell it after seeing the crowds the last 3 months on the lake. Total BS

I called all American battery here in town and they recommended Deka. Does anyone know if they make a marine application bracket? I don’t mind spending $200 per battery but Odyssey and Deka are too long for my current battery stands...

I have always used NAPA The Legend Premium Battery 750 Cranking amps, for $160 bucks, They last about 6-7 years in my boats, no problems
I do not see the need or needed the need for all these Special Batteries.
