Just wanted to bump this thread to make sure it doesn't get forgotten. We had to back out last minute last year due to unexpected family opportunities. The wife is CFC that I am unavailable this year to help entertain her side of the family if they want to come to town again. Looking forward to photobombing some of the pics this year.

Coincidence that you bumped this thread today, as I was going to do it yesterday and forgot to. We had a great time last year and can't wait to do this years as non rookies.

For those of you who plan on launching out of Cottonwood, go to the link below and start sending the NPS messages demanding they open it! Katherines is open, Willow Beach is open, Cottonwood is closed. Makes no sense and they will be unlikely to reopen it unless they start feeling some pressure from the public.

We are still planning on going. I can’t imagine the shutdown lasting another 3-1/2 months.
last time I checked, we only needed one more person to book a room for everyone to get 25% off under “rileygroup” (I didn’t pick the name).
We are looking forward to it. Did some “pre running” at Willow beach last weekend. lol

I also purchased this flat grill which I am bringing for after the run on Saturday. been practicing grilling tacos

2020 DAMN DAM RUN

We are now 3-1/2 months away from the Damn Dam Run, August 8th. With Desert Storm and many other functions being cancelled or postponed, this might be a good first year for some people. There will be multiple families staying at the Katherines Landing Motel (25% discount when you say you’re...

I’m definitely gonna launch from willow. Have a trip planned with no kids the following weekend at needles.
Launching from willow is a hell of a lot easier for me and the kids ( they get to sleep

Cool, the rumor was they were closed because of the pandemic. Either way I'm glad they are opening again.

So thinking to leave about 5-10 before everyone and get to the first big sweeping left and send the drone up, so if that works out that i leave before and in position Vic will know, but would be awesome to try and get as many as possible grouped up maybe not tight but grouped up for that section.
As well I’m sure the boss will be bringing her good camera like last year.

No launching at Katherine’s, but figure to try and do the aerial out of Cottonwood as seems should be the best spot and biggest group shot.

yesterday I ran from cotton to Davis dam and back since I won’t be going from Katherines with you guys and I have never been.
good old lake mohave never disappoints with the wind! It was so sloppy yesterday with boat wake and the wind.
don’t mind the glass I will be gettin redonein the wind tee when the boat gets need interior. Use it to much to have it down for a week..

thispast weekend was crazy busy and the wind was hollowing. I was cruising at 30 against the wind in white caps this weekend. Got tired Of bouncing so I hammered down and trimmed up my 230 eagle went thru some big white caps easy. I was sore yesterday from it but it’s fine. just tel any ladies or kids to stay seated you’ll be fine.
Saw some 21 ft jet boats with no freeboard doing fine in the basin.
