Damn, I just paid 39.95 ea. for the danik on amazon.
That slide hook looks identical and half the price!
Great score!

Recommend TopKnot @ mooringlines.com lines. Minimum 5/8. One for the box anchor and another for the spike. Makes tying up so easy!

Just make sure you use them on the right size / type rope . They don’t work too good on old nylon braided ski rope 😩

Those slip a bit in the Danik hooks. Use cheap china dock lines for maximum traction :)

If you want a real experience, go to the slide anchor store and buy them. It’s an absolute trip. You can stay and have a drink or 2.

I tie a small loop in my rope as a back up with mine.

Easy peasy!

Just got the hooks, and for those that don’t know what they are, or look like, here is a pic.

Looking forward to using them.

The Danik and Slide Hook are the exact same, i believe Slide Hook owns Danik now.

Lol.. you must be doing it wrong..

I've stood there there and watched it happen with the owner of said bote and said high end dock lines. We swapped the dock line to a cheap one of the same size, no slippage.

There is nothing magical going on, the Danik hook works on friction. Some of the nice custom dock lines slip in the Danik hook, I'm assuming because of the material and/or the weave. I'm just saying this as an FYI.. the hook is not 100% foolproof. Mine have never moved, but I don't use it high end custom lines lines.

You can always tie a knot behind the hook for insurance.

I love these bad boys! The composite version works well too if you’re worried about dinging your bóte.

I’ve been wanting some of these for the longest time. Just never wanted to take the time to order them from overtons. Your post inspired me and what do you know, Amazon has them now so I ordered four. Lol

Saw @02HoWaRd26 used one last year at damn dam run, thought how cool. Picked one up at the LA Boat Show this year, even the park rangers comment on it. 🙂

This, tie a knot in the end of the rope so it won't slip through, rescue systems training calls it a safety.
