Really enjoyed my first Daytona 28, great boat, big enough but not huge. It made more sense to sell my 28 and buy this one when I added up the costs to upgrade mine.....new alcantara interior, stand off boxes, rebuilt trailer, sportmaster lowers, new canopies, huge JL audio system, rebuilt 496's with forged internals and whipples, etc........spoke with Alexi and he said $21,000 per engine for the Whipple and upgraded internals so it was no brainer.

Its geared really low with 1.24's, cruises at 100 mph at 4400 rpm with 5 bladed 34's.

Boat was built new by Cliff Ashford in OKC, spoke with him about the boat, hes really set this one up for top end.

Nope, cancelled it, not all that comfortable with the future at the moment and dont want to be the guy who takes the big depreciation hit on a new build.

Canopies OR the COOL old school windshield?

That's a great looking boat, love the graphics, congrats. Are you at about 125 top end on that bad boy?

I secretly always wanted the cat and mice boat.. With the blow small blocks.

I'm not sure where it went, but I'd probably end up with it for the right price... of course I'd have to put another 50K in to start because it's old.. LOL

But I'm sure it would be cheaper to buy as well. being it's an older boat.

Cool, how does that boat roll on plane with that power compared to a 25/26?

Rolls over at around 2500 rpm, then cavitates a little bit and then hooks, the center tab and the max machine plates make it ridiculously easy, and it stays very level, i was really surprised, i can see over the bow in my seat the entire time, something I cant say for alot of the other daytonas I have had. I think the combo of the stand off boxes, the center tab and the MM foils works really well. And its set up for top end with big five blade 34's and 1.24 gear ratio, so I though it would suck out of the hole, i was really surprised.
