So, people in Ca and other restricted states are insta-fucked because you have to register your rifle. And correct me if I'm wrong, even when you're "not registering" a rifle in states like Arizona, your purchase is still submitted to ATF through an FFL so, if you bought a rifle in the past 30 years you're on file as owning one and the tax will follow you I'm guessing. But question is, how will they know how many high capacity mags you have?

Whole things stupid.

Buy CA "featureless" rifles and do whatever you want. Regular mag release, no requirement for registration, not considered an assault weapon.

Not exactly.
There is zero federal record of the TYPE of rifle you bought in a State that has no registration like AZ.
The form only states long gun, pistol, or controlled gun part (lower).
It is specifically against the law for the feds to create or maintain a registry of private weapons EXCEPT for regulated weapons like full auto etc,
What that all means is that ā€œassault riflesā€ will have to be CLEARLY defined, then added to the list of regulated exceptions.
This alone will be a huge task, not the least of which will be simply the defining characteristics of said weapons.
Even then, back sourcing data to create a federal ownership list is still illegal, so that will have to be addressed.
Then, the only way to create an actual type of rifle purchase list is to access store and merchant records (except for states like kommiefornistan) which is ā€œbest of luck!ā€ endeavor. Even then, I can legally sell any one of my store bought legal guns in AZ without even asking for an ID.
There is no way to trace type of weapon, and after that, no way to prove ownership.
So itā€™ll be kind of really fucking stupid to volunteer data if this ever did come to fruition, unless you hang out at the range or have a shooting business.

This is so sad to see. We are now in the beginnings maybe even further into socialism/communism than anyone thought could happen. This is a dictatorship by no other name. The fact is if they can get the constitution removed as the rule of law in this country, which make no mistake about it,and that has been their goal for a hundred years now. Just being pushed and talked about mainstream now. Plus the kids have not been taught for the last 20 years about the constitution or "real American history". You/we/me loose our rights to guns, we have lost our civility, country and identity as a whole.
It is the basis of the 2nd amendment, so we can defend ourselves against a tyrannical government!!!

Next... they reduce the number of guns you can own, and they keep chipping away at 'guns' and everything related, and then....... they take them away ....and then........ they come for you for not complying with them and their ideologies and then.....and so on. This is Socialism/Communism call it whatever but is not Democracy as we know it. It is already happening. If you speak out you are labeled and get fired from your job, your company loses work, your labeled, ect. They silenced the most powerful man in the world, the POTUS, and if they can do that, then we the people are screwed.

Yeah, it's an uphill battle for sure. This crazed leftist group in charge now scares me though.

However, even if this bill was passed and you didn't get your license and now your guns can be confiscated. Who's gonna go out and do that? Local LE? Newly expanded ATF agents (because they do NOT have enough resources to take this on) and when they come knock on your door to take your guns, how they gonna get it? They gonna go through the court to get a warrant for each person that doesn't get their "gun license" renewed? And what happens if they do show up with a warrant and they can't find your guns? Throw you in jail?

Fuckin dipshit lawmakers don't think anything through. Idiots.

It will never make it through Congress. And even if it did, it isnā€™t even Bidenā€™s proposal to tax everything as Fox is stating.

More Fake News from those liberal Fox people......

You just don't understand. You see it is not a Biden plan, the NFA has been around for a bit. You have to understand turd logic which states just because someone plans on applying the NFA to "assault weapons", that doesn't make it "His" plan, just the plan he is planning on applying to the public. Keep up Dude!

Buy CA "featureless" rifles and do whatever you want. Regular mag release, no requirement for registration, not considered an assault weapon.

They will come out with different definitions for what an "Assault Weapon" is at the federal level, guaranteed. Any (detachable) magazine fed semi-auto will most likely be listed.

Society has gone soft with all these Liberal bitches taking orders from congress people that produce absolutely nothing and manage the countries financials worse than any business ever has or will.

I understand where your thought process is but that totally misses the point of what theyā€™re doing and how it criminalizes you and I.

I have a hard time believing that they will classify a 22 plinker (Ruger 1022, etc) as an assault rifle...

It might just list guns that use centerfire cartridges. I would not be that worried about rimfire guns, but you never know.

It won't matter. Detachable mag, semi auto= "assault rifle". They will pull their bullshit as they always do.

Don't forget, their end goal is complete disarmament of the People. They are in the best postilion they have ever been to make that happen, or at least start down that road.

Thereā€™s at least 10 million AR 15s in the US today...maybe over 15 million?
No one knows for sure.
Theres a whole bunch of other scary guns too...AKā€™s, HKā€™s, and god knows how many of the old pistols...Macs, uzis, etc and on and on.
I donā€™t discount the intentions of these liberal enemies. They are definitely working towards disarmament.
BUT...you guys all seem to think there is some list somewhere in the federal halls that tells who owns what. There isnā€™t. Itā€™s illegal for the feds to have that.
Now Iā€™m not naive, I realize that they have all kinds of personal data on anyone they want, and can check Credit cards and online purchases etc.
But as it stands it is IMPOSSIBLE for the feds to say you own a so called ā€œassault rifleā€ (not weapon) without seeing you with it or searching and finding it.
When it reaches the point that they are conducting warrantless searches for guns then the war has already started.
And then what if they do find one in say a vehicle search without the sticker?
Itā€™s basically like getting popped without an off-road sticker as proposed.

Even States like CA with total registration are constitutionally protected from data harvesting by the feds without a warrant.
Itā€™s illegal for the Feds to data mine State registrations except with a specific warrant.
The same with merchants.
Im not saying this canā€™t change, but Iā€™d like someone to explain to me exactly how anyone is going to be targeted by the IRS or any agency?

IRS: ā€œHey Joe Blow, we illegally found out you bought a scary gun 2 years ago, you didnā€™t register it this year as you were supposed to, we are fining youā€.

Joe Blow: ā€œNope, sold it last year. No receipt, donā€™t know the guys name, paid cash...sorryā€.

It baffles me that people talk all about their assault rifles online.
I talk about guns, sure, Iā€™m doing it right now.
But Iā€™ve never bought a gun online, nor will I.
Iā€™ve never logged onto a gun enthusiast site or forum.
Not even here. Nor will I...especially one that requires a password! Lol
pretty sure there isn't a picture here (or any other site) with me and a scary gun. Nor will there be.
The only paperwork that shows ANY specific type of gun Iā€™ve ever bought were 2 store bought guns in CA, and my model 70 transfer from Alaska.
My CC receipts only show totals, my hand written purchase receipts show a serial number.

exactly... taxing magazines?Wtf how would they pull that off.

it is comiCal how obsessed the left is with black ā€œAR-15ā€™sā€ like banning and controlling or taxing them will somehow stop crime and mass shootings. Mini 14 with a wooden stock and 30rd magazine is not a problem, unless it is black and has one of those ultra assault pistol grips.

I think they should lead by example and diss arm all their surrounding hired protection first. Show us that you really believe and support that ā€œnobody needsā€ one of these evil things.

Remember how Snowden showed us the secret government surveillance of everyday Americans. I'm sure they have been compiling data on gun owners, sales ammo purchases, ccw permits, hunting license, silencer permits, SBR, etc....

Yes Iā€™d be surprised if they havenā€™t.
Still, to implement it would require open disregard of federal law as it stands.
So I guess in my mind implementation basically goes hand in hand with a defacto declaration of the elimination of the constitution in general and the 2nd in particular.
Which, given the events of the last 12 months, is completely plausible.
I mean, theyā€™ve wiped their ass with the 1st, it stands to reason theyā€™ll piss all over the rest before shredding it completely.

From Giffords:

ā€œWhile federal law requires licensed gun dealers to maintain sales records, it also requires the FBI to destroy approved background check records,ā€

FIREARM SALES RECORDS
ā€œFederal law requires licensed firearms dealers to maintain records of gun sales for at least 20 years, including information about the firearm(s) being purchased, as well as the purchaser.2Federal law prohibits the federal government from collecting firearm sales records in a central repository, however.ā€

That was my first thought.
Then if we have to pay a tax do we even need billet buttons anymore?

You are mixing up California laws with these new proposed Federal laws. Two totally different things.
