Took this a year or so ago on a potty-break w/ Pops.
He'd never seen it before and laughed.

If you have time to waste, some history on the town.

A friend of mine had friends whose family purchased one of the WWII "quonset" hut buildings that was in Rice in the early 50s and moved it onto property on Havasu Landing, not very far from where the new casino is now. When the tribe kicked out all the land leasees(~15 yrs ago) there, it was one of the casualties. Three generations of family had their memories erased essentially.

So the guy admits he’s gonna do at least a buck on Rice rd. To get to the middle of nowhere.

I think gigamurph lived in Desert Center. Nobody's lived in Rice since the '40s. When the Gas Station was still open, my folks would supply them with touristy trinkets to sell. Stuff like Blue-Jean style coffee cups and the other crap you see in every stop in the desert. I'd drive out there to re-stock the stuff and collect payment every couple of weeks. This was around '87 or so.

I remember the gas station in the late 70's.
