Let's be honest. I don't think anyone here cares and most members don't even know who he is. [emoji1787][emoji1787] He left behind 15 kids. [emoji43]

I use to bump his music back in the 90's though. R.I.P.

Ok

I only know him from the Exit Wounds movie. He was good in that. RIP

I liked some of his music. Another waste of talent. Addiction is terrible thing. RIP

I was told yesterday he had a house in Cave Creek of all places a few years back. I confirmed it today.....the house eventually went into default.

I'm pretty sure he had a place in Desert Hills years ago

What I find funny is the CNN artical I read mentions nothing of a drug OD (just a heart attack) and talks about how good of a guy he was and went to rehab to become a family man in 2019...

Yet damn near every other artical is talking about him OD'ing and having a million kids.

CNN just trying to build another "martyr" narrative!🤷🏻‍♂️

Don’t know anything about DMX and don’t give a RAT’S ass that he died from an overdose. Some will make him a hero/victim, others will make him a wealthy addict who lost it all, while some will continue to enjoy his music.

This made me think about artists in my past who have died of drug use and/or an overdose. I still enjoy their music, but I don’t consider them heroes or victims. I do think about the music we could have had if they lived:

Jim Morrison (my all time favorite)
prince (second all time favorite - probably more talent than Morrison)
Jimmy Hendrix
Janis Joplin
Tom Petty
Elvis
Michael Jackson

To each his/her own.

I remember him coming into my work 20 years ago trying to buy stuff with bad checks and all his credit cards maxed out.

Also remember without the drugs you probably wouldn’t have had any music from them at all.

May I add Bon Scott to that list.

Dont care how you look at it... He died and that sucks for the people who loved him... I cant say DMX mattered to me but this lands on a shitty topic for me and my family as clearly most of the people who have made negative comments here have not experienced the power drug addiction has over people. I have lost family and friends to drug addiction and would not wish that feeling on anyone. The wife and I are still trying to get our daughter back from this and have to live every day preparing for the worst. Keep in min you dont know what you don't know.
