Years ago, one of my buddies dad had finally had enough of this 55 gallon drum of used oil on his side yard, and kicked it over. Dumped 55 gallons of used oil. Over the years, it was the only spot the grew green grass in that side yard.

I was just telling a buddy this. Had a piece of plywood with a brick over the hole out back.

Most stores make it hard to recycle.

Pro Tip #2: Old Gas, just let sit in open air container and it nicely evaporates to never never land rather quickly!

Kind of like the old process for bilge cleaning was a 1/2 cup of Tide and some water in the bilge.

Scrub it, go run the the boat and pull the plug at the ramp.

Dad did this for as long as I could recall as a kid, but around all the cedar fence posts. That damned fence is probably still there 65 years later. 😁

Back in the day that's what many did. My dad use to say your simply putting the oil back in the ground where it came from...

I use simple green a few gallons of water and dump in a bag of ice. The ice acts as a scrubber. But I do that one the way to the launch and pull the plug when I get there and let it drain before I launch.
