I don’t really give a shit about how bad yooooor commute is, how much money you can sell your overpriced SoCal house for.

I’ve found boating heaven.

What’s the view out of your dining room window? 😂😂😂

Kryptonite lives!
Hula lives!

That looks damn near perfect. Hell, take you longer to find your flip-flops than it does to launch.

That’s an awesome setup. Yeah what city are you in and with the storms that come in does it affect where you live much? I could see myself there. Lol

Remember no one likes a sore winner😬

As punishment for rubbing our nose in your joy - you must share where that is and all the particulars of the complex - ave cost / hoa fees / slip fees etc 😊

Hell, I appreciate "winners", sore or otherwise...they post the most epic pictures!

My only boat knowledge of Florida comes from here. Seeing pics guys have posted from trips, and the videos from "Haulover"...and those scare the hell out of me. Tommy posts some postcard looking views from time to time, and Dan shows the epic nightlife. If I can't go someplace, it's kind of like having a tour of places and not just the brochure. There's a guy with horse property and trees... Hell, it always seemed like all of Florida was either Disneyworld or Cuban music on the beach from my world view.

HulA, where are you? Not your address but area. I want see a google earth type pic. Florida interests me for sure, but i know nothing about the place and where the 'good' spots are to live.
Thanks

Trop storms are waaaay over hyped unless you are up north in the panhandle.
Our friends moved to Cape Coral.
Been evacuated twice within a year and backyard flooded and trees toppled
Sold his boat. Didn't realize the extra maintenance for salt water especially twin IOs.
Rain and humidity and over sized bugs

Have two coworkers that already bought retirement homes in Coral Gables and four others shopping. Prices are climbing quickly.

35 bucks a year for the hoa. It covers maintenance at the private launch in our neighborhood.
No slip fees. I own it.
No complex. This is a standalone concrete block house. No termites, not much in the way of fire problems, and it stood up to hurricane Irma just fine.

it’s 100 miles to Jacksonville from my dock, and I can go about 80 miles to the south, and get to the south side of Orlando.

Astor is a blip on the map, 12-1500 people?
1 little grocery store that has 4 aisles.
25 minutes to Deland, which has all the shopping you need. 45 minutes inland from Ormond Beach.

prices are climbing quickly here. Glad I bought when I did.

I assume you’ve been to Silver Glen Springs? That’s my go to whenever I have my boat in Jax. Launch out of Palatka, about 45mi down to the springs.

OK now I am just fucked. I googled homes for sale in Astor FL, every house has a dock and now my mind is all screwed up. How can I convince my wife to pack up and live my dream? LOL..

Can we just go back to the 1950's and 60's when I just told her to get in the car and shut her trap?!

I would sit on that dock, drink beers, look at my boat, fish, I would never leave.

You're in boating and fishing paradise my friend! My Dad used to live south of you in Casselberry near Lake Jessup and Lake George. They relocated to Inverness before he passed away a few years ago. You're located in a beautiful part of Central Florida! 😎

Yep freshwater. Although it has an ice tea color to it and if you’re standing in knee deep water, you won’t be able to see your feet. But there’s all kinds of cool places to go/see on the St John’s. Huge waterway and some parts of it are kinda like the Jungle Boat Cruise at Disneyland

It took me about 4 years to convince my wife moving out of state was a good idea. Everyone's dreams and goals are different, and in some respects fluid throughout their lifetime. Sometimes, the stars align, and you and your significant other wake up and say hell with it. When that day comes, don't second guess it or overthink it, go for it.

That’s what sold me. I flew down for a weekend trip in October, and bought this place on the following Monday. It’s a fifteen minute ride. 72 degree water year round.

Is the salt water accessible from where you are?
