Hi!

Hope all are well

Then I have put the 450R in the shopping basket, and if I am lucky I will receive it in August since the dealer made an order 5 months ago. Lucky me.

I will post the rerigg and performance data.

During the 23 years I have owned my boat, I have run several engine configurations:

Johnson V8 3.6 GT 300hp + = 75 mph
Promax 300 SVS - 75 mph
Twin Merc 2.5 Efi SS w/PCU = 87 mph
Verado 350 Sci = 81,5 mph
Verado 400R = 89 mph

So we see what we can get out of the 450R. Possibly 95 mph with the same type of propeller - Max5. Maybe more with a 5bl Hill / Merc cleaver.

Look forward to it !

Cheeers, Toffen

Hi ! Its the same boat. Its a 1985 model Phantom 25 from UK. I bought it in 1998, then equipped with the Johnson GT 300. The most fun to drive was the twin 2.5 EFI SS with PCU's. But USD 300 in fuel and oil per hour stopped me using them after 6 years. Great sound too ! The best engine has been the 400R, although the mid range punch could have been stronger. The 450R should solve that issue :) Cheeers !

Hi!

Now its going forward.

400R off and sold. Stainless Marine Gorilla jack is off and sold.

The jacplate has been solid as rock for 10 years now, but since I run the propshaft 2 inches above the bottow, everything has to be rigged to the top. The new Bobs Extreme Gen III has a slideplate higher than the transomside, so its more suitable for my application.

New steering hoses, GEN3 pump, etc need to be rigged. New fuel filter, fuel hoses and tank pickup. Electrical set up with new fuses, harnesses, etc. So it will take its time.

The engine will be mounted with the propshaft 2,25 inches below the bottom at the lowest. This makes it possible to fine tune the propshaft at WOT 2-2,25 inches above the bottom.

We have two props ordered, one Max5 15 dia standard tube 27 inch pitch - and one Max5 15,25 dia short tune (ST) 27 inch pitch.

We will also mount winddeflectors such as Tuff 24 and Tuff 28.

Cheeers, Toffen

looking good!!just guessing, but if you mount C/L propshaft 2.25" below bottom the top speed will be a HUGE letdown IMO..those V8 cases are big diameter at 5.44" and they like being on surface..keep us posted

Hi!

We run the propshaft 2 - 2,25 inches above the bottom at WOT, and 2,25 inches below at cruisespeed :) Above the 2,25 inches at WOT, I think we will loose water pressure and play with a sudden prop walk ...

When I used the 400R I gained a lot from 1 inch above to 2 inches above, so you are corect with the huge I6 and V8 cases :like being surface:)
