This is one of my all time favorite Howards, it was built by Keith Garlick and sports a Teague Custom Marine 1050. This was the first 288 to break 300K when it was built, and was drop dead gorgeous at the boat show. Should be noted, the boat was built new 3 years ago, was only used a couple times. It is under contract down at @MaxedOutMarine right now being sold to a new owner.

The Gel colors were designed to match the planes.. (yes plural )

110 MPH with a 5 Blade in case your wondering.

I haven't featured too much on Howard since the last boat show, but I just wanted to show some of the RDP members boats here.. This is ANOTHER 288 with a Teague Custom Marine 1050 in it! Teague tested 110 MPH with a 5 blade.

Chris Coffee and crew getting ready to hit the water.

I seem to remember seeing one where the gel matched their Prevost and the upholstery was to match their bentley? Ballers for sure.

Howard builds beautiful boats, my 06 28 Bullet is at Outdrive 1 with a sale pending. I owned a 05 25 Bullet prior. Great quality builds.

They really are built extremely well and great attention to detail! Always beautiful lines too.

Really functional deck boat. Great lines and performance.

I know most of you would have a hard time believing me say this but after selling the Cobra, the Howard was at the top of my list to be my next boat... until I woke up to the realization of how much money I was going to spend. That’s when the toon showed up [emoji23]
Stunning boats and I always enjoyed talking to Gene about a build.

What ever happened to the rumored 28 CC they were going to build from the bottom of the bullet?

@BUDMAN based on what others have posted with a 3 year wait on a boat, dont think adding a cc makes sense. if its not broken dont fix it?

I wish they would! They can barely fill the orders they have. Sold out two years now. It’s a production problem not a sales problem. There’s only so much Howard to go around.

I got a solution to that if anyone is interested in getting into the boat biz. 🤔🤨.

The Howard is the only one with a powered wind deflector to my knowledge. It sits flat and you push the switch and it goes up.

I have been in a few of these and it’s surprisingly effective.

This could probably be said for a majority of the higher end builders, but Howard hulls will always have that "timeless" design to them imo. Absolutely gorgeous

Really like your 28. Any pics of your 25? If I decide to go V bottom, I think a 25 Bullet would be a great boat.

Absolutely beautiful boat!

But Damn, when did the world go and get crazy?

$300,000.00 is a shit ton of dough.

What’s a new M31 cost, 500k ?

Not being a dick, honestly been out of this market for a long time.

Obviously Engine Package would have a lot to do with it. I think you can build one easily with 500K but if you want 1100's or 1350's I'm sure it will run much more than 500.

Well, when a "non-custom" fully loaded 28' Cobalt goes for $200k+ with 400HP it's not hard to see why these fetch $300k. And those Cobalt's are flying off the shelves, not so much in West Coast but they are huge in other markets and just production boats.

pretty sure you can get the Cobalt a lot fast than a 2 yr wait.... Imagine if Howard could do that, they could triple their yearly gross.

I for one wouldn't wait for one. If I had to wait 2 yrs it would be for a 70' viking sport fisher.

What's the story?
I am pretty sure there was an old thread about that incident. If I remember correctly, boat was only hooked to the trailer on the bow eye, and the boat flew off the trailer on the highway in the middle of the night.

Howards 288 is the sexiest deck. I love my Nordic but it doesn't have the same sleek bodylines.

Have a video of how it works? Would love to see it. Or pictures when it’s up

I would wait on a Freeman. My buddy has a 34’ Freeman, but wants a 37’. There is a year wait. He asked Freeman if there was any way to get it quicker. Freeman says there is no wait on a 47’. So he ordered the 47’. Damn baller!!

Cobalt's 2022 production is spoken for. They are super backed up and have had to slow production due to the resin shortage.

It’s good to have friends with ocean boats. Frog is waiting on 47’ Freeman. Jeremy has a 42’ Bertram. And Chris has a 38’ Scout. Herb has a 37’ Freeman. Benny has a 37’ Freeman. Got plenty of ocean rides. Just pitch in for fuel, bait and beer.

That was an insurance scam I believe, if I remember correctly. Originally was Steak and Lobster’s boat he sold.
