Been going to Powell for over 35 years and have never been until last week. It was our 43rd anniversary so bounced around the area and did the lower canyon tour. No crowd just us and a young knowledgeable Indian guide. Navaho Nation hence the masks. You walk a ways down to the entrance and down some stairs to the bottom. Pretty spectacular. You walk back thru the canyon half a mile. Highly recommend. We reserved online and drove to Dixies Antelope Canyon Tours. Can’t believe we waited so long.

I dragged my kids there on a trip through the area. Four Corners wasn't too exciting. Monument Valley was better. The Cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde were incredible. But Antelope Canyon was a lifelong memory. Such an amazing place. Its hard to take a bad photo!!!

If you do some research there are places similar but off the beaten path and not managed. Look how small my wife looks in the first 2 pics, this canyon went on for miles

Aren't those the canyons that get flushed by Mom Nature on occasion ? Guess you want to know there's no monsoons in the area

Look how high the debris pile is in the first pic I posted. You'd be dead.

I saw that, and recall reading about a tour group tragedy involving one of the canyons in that area. 😔

I have done the upper Antelope tour and it’s amazing. There are some amazing canyons that are off the beaten path.
