1999 H/R Navigator 40 equipped with Cummins ISM/Allison 4060, it has 66k miles.
Bought it from Dallas and drove home in California 1400 miles without issue. The motorhome handling very well in term of being passed by a semi and passing the semi.
My first RV was class C 26' gas own it for 15 years, this is my second.
These are the exterior and interior when I picked it up.

Damn, you are not messing around, we did snap lock wood look rubber back flooring in one of ours, came out great. Couple things I would recommend is the Safe-T-Plus product for the steering and get Koni shocks for the front, night and day difference over stock.

I paid $37k for the motorhome and $3k for 6 brand new tires and drove home from Dallas.
It does need some love, the selling point because it has Cummins ISM 450 HP (1450 ft/tq) combo with Allison 4060.

The floor tiles and carpet removed.
IMG_3726.jpg

There is some water damaged on the floor at the driver side area, I cut it out and replace. The floor is 1.5" thick.
The small area at the drive side (brake pedal) where I can't access, I drilled many 1/2" hole and injected the fiber glass resin for supporting.
IMG_3748.jpg

The repair is completed.

Another small area on the passenger side near the dining table is also completed.

Been thinking about getting rid of the carpet in my coach, did you just break the tile up to the edge of your kitchen? How did you get your furniture out? I think I'd need to take a window out

Yes, its few inches passed the edge of the kitchen. When passenger and the driver seats are out, there is plenty of room for both sofas, sometime you might need to rotate a little bit to get it out. I didn't have to take a window out.

Wow, impressive, do you have slides? If so curious how the vinyl wood stuff worked if they are elevated.

Yes, 1 slide the kitchen and jackknife soda. I added the underlayment for LVP and it levels with old carpet and tiles.

The electric step motor has already made noise when I first picked up the RV, now it times to look at it. Sure enough the teeth of the main gear are broken, tried to get a replacement gear is difficult so I ended up replaced with newer conversion kit. It work perfect.

Who did you use to reupholster? How much if you don't mind me asking? PS looks great that Navigator is on the same chassis as an Excutive Monaco ,great coach with the M11
I used a local upholstery shop in Hemet, they charged $1300 for both sofas and $300 for just a top piece (seating) of the driver and passenger seat.
After that I sent some of my friends over for their motorhome furniture but the upholster increased the price stated too much work for the motorhome furniture.
Before this shop, I was calling around, sent the photos of the sofa for the quote and average about $1000 - $1300 per sofa.

Also the motor in my Navigator is ISM which is a little different from earlier Cummins M11

History of the L10, M11 and ISM:

The Cummins M Series engine is a straight six diesel engine designed and produced by Cummins.
It displaces 10.8 litres (659.1 cu in). Introduced as the M11 in 1994, it was built on the previous L10 engine (same 4.921 inches 125.0 mm) cylinder bore, but a longer 5.787 inches (147.0 mm) piston stroke compared to the L10's 5.354 inches (136.0 mm) stroke).
In 1996, Cummins added electronic controls to improve efficiency. This model became known as the M11 Plus.
The M11 Plus became the ISM when Cummins applied its Interact System (hence the "IS" in ISM) to the M11 Plus to further improve the engine. The ISM is available in four different configurations, with slightly different emphasis on maximum power (450 horsepower (336 kW; 456 PS) vs. 500 horsepower (373 kW; 507 PS)) and peak torque.

Years of Production and available Horse Power

L10 = 1983 to 1991 (240 to 320 hp)
L10 CELECT = 1992 to 1998 (280 to 350 hp)
M11 CELECT = 1994 to 1995 (280 to 350 hp)
M11 CELECT Plus = 1996 to 1998 (280 to 450 hp)
ISM (non-EGR) = 1999 to 2003 (280 to 450 hp)
ISM (EGR) = 2004 to 2010 (280 to 500 hp)

Cummins is planning to phase out the ISM for 2011 in favor of the 11.9-liter version of their ISX series.
The Cummins ISM is the alternative engine to the larger ISX for local and long haul applications. Although mostly seen in daycab tractors and vocational trucks, the ISM engine can also be found in large motorhomes and fire equipment. Designed as a replacment for the original M11 engine, the Cummins ISM began with the CM570 fuel system and progressed with the following:

1.) In 2002, upgraded to the CM875 fuel system which included an EGR valve for EPA emmission compliance.
2.) In 2007, upgraded to the CM876 fuel system. This fuel system still includes the EGR, but also added a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to conform to the new EPA standards.

Looks great!

I like what you did with the LED Strip lights on the room and around the bed. How did you power/control it? Might be a cool option when dry camping to have some light in the rig at night for the kids when we are around the fire without draining to much on the batteries.

Factory was installed old light strip (similar as old Christmas light) at bottom of the kitchen and the rear bed.
I upgraded to modern multi-colors LED and added the ceiling section.

When first drove home from Dallas last year, I did not know much about the turbo boost number and since the motorhome did not tow anything the power responses seems to be acceptable.

Our first trip to the desert towing my flatbed with my Tundra on it, I only can do about 45-47 mph at the Cajon pass and the turbo boost has never passed 14psi ever since I picked up the unit in Dallas. The engine oil was changed before this trip.

After this trip I dropped the motorhome off to a local shop for changing the engine coolant and transmission oil, the second trip to the desert this time I towed the enclosed trailer with the SxS in it and the speed at the Cajon pass still similar as last trip. The motorhome drives with trailer on the flat highway seems to be okay but the turbo boost still never passed 14psi

Brought the motorhome back to the shop and I was really concern about the engine performance, either was it something wrong with the engine performs or that all the Cummins 450HP/1450 lb-ft can do ??? no CEL codes was found in the history, with some more diagnosed the shop told me the turbo needs to be replaced.
Brand new turbo
IMG_0236.jpg

I had the shop ordered the brand new turbo directly from Cummins for replacement. After the turbo was replaced I tested drive the motorhome and the turbo boost still showing the same (less than 15psi) This time we went to Alamo lake with the enclosed trailer, the performance of the engine up the Chiriaco summit still wasn't I was expected.

I bought scangauge D to connect to the ODB port on the motorhome to see whether the turbo gauge was bad or something, ended up the scangauge did not communicated with the motorhome, I called their support and after several cables and the units was sent, I have to take a refund. Scangauge stated they experience with this issue sometime on the early model of the Cummins.

I called another motorhome repair shop in Redland for a second opinion and was schedule in three months.
I came back to the local shop and talked to the owner and he agreed to re-test the CAC, he confirmed it was tested b4 and it was no leak that was why they told me the turbo needs to be replaced. This time they found the leak on the intercooler. The intercooler and the radiator are connected together so both need to be dropped.
So I called the shop in Redland to cancel the diagnose also the local shop owner agreed not to charge the labor for R&R the intercooler and the radiator.

While the intercooler at the shop for re-core I looked at the radiator and looks like there is a rotted fins on the radiator so I took it to the shop for re-core also.

After the intercooler/radiator installed, ready for the test drive. The shop owner went with me for the test drive I could tell the first time since own the motorhome I've seem 24psi on the turbo gauge, drive up the the hill it went to the max at 30psi. I was so happy.
We went to Mammoth lake few weeks ago towing the flatbed with my Gen 2 Tundra in it and it was a breeze up to the Cajon pass and other mountain pass along hwy 395.

Yeah the ism has electronic injection pump, do your self a favor and use fuel lubricates or you'll loose that inj. pump ,personaly I run tcw3 two stroke oil in my fuel and I haven't had an issue yet with the injectors, injection pump on both my generator or engine.

So was the turbo really bad? or was it the intercooler leak all along and you replaced the turbo for nothing?

Yeah I always use Lucas injector cleaner and fuel conditioner every time I fill the diesel.

I don't think the turbo was bad but since they already installed the brand new turbo so I left it in there. The issue was leaking of the intercooler.

Update!
The motorhome drives straight and solid but the factory shocks (Bilstein) over 20 year is old doesn't give smooth drive when passing the small pothole so I decided to replace 8 shocks with Koni FSD, the drives improve a lot after shocks replacement.
Since there is some cracks and aged on the airbags, I also replaced 8 Automan bags.

After finished the LVP floor at the entry door stair, I found several pair of the wires always has power 12vdc, further looks I found those wires should be connected to the entry door switch but was missing. I use the hood/trunk pins switch for replacement and connected to the LED strip.

The factory sewer storage hose has two bends so it impossible to insert any sewer hose into it, I cut and replaced with 4" corrugated drain pipe and capped, it now fit 15' - 20' sewer hose easily.

The factory mirror backsplash fall off it also look dated so time to give a kitchen a fresh look. We decided go with mosaic tile backsplash.
I put a duct tape around a mirror to prevent the glass broken in small pieces and use the head gun to loose the glue behind the mirror.
After the mirrors removed, I started to remove the factory wallpaper. For installing the backsplash mosaic tile I use the adhesive mat made by Mussel Bound available at Lowes. For the grout, I forgot to use the silicon based grout so I will see how long it holds up.

That backsplash looks so good! You are doing some great work to this old coach. I have a 40' 2000 Foretravel, and interior construction is very similar. Real solid oak wood for everything, Cummins ISM450, outboard airbag suspension. I need to get on the interior upgrades like you are.

Update!
The taillights looks dated so I removed the stock taillight assembly and fabricated new LED taillight. I use 3 dual function 4" stop/turn/tail/backup and 1.5" round each side.
The taillight assembly I used steel sheet 14 gauge the frame and 18 gauge for the skin.
