there are a bunch that are grandfathered in…if they move, they’re effectively shut down. That’s why they stay put…they can’t even sell the properties because they’re probably too contaminated.Funny you guys recommend California shops. Buddy builds huge rectifiers for the plating industry all over the world. Eveyone I've ever talked to in the industry says Ca (of course) restricts certain chemicals and processes which reduces the overall quality of plating in Ca. and you really can't get the quality of chrome and long lasting material that you can get outside of Ca. Same goes with paints. Point being, if you are able to find a good shop outside of Ca., I'd use that.

Are they still in business? we used to use them YEARS ago, i thought they had closed up? or maybe the business got sold?
They used to do anodizing iirc
