Unfortunately manufacturing can't just flip a switch and be producing double what they are now. All the lead times on equipment and machinery are higher than they've ever been. Lead times are anywhere from 18 to 52 weeks for certain high demand items.

Calling on the private sector to "help" in this case is kinda like a prison guard asking an inmate in a cell to help him serve food. They are completely hamstrung by miles and miles of red tape and regulations established and maintained by the gov't that keeps them from helping even if they wanted to.

Unless they find a bunch of new truck drivers working at night won't do anything. Truck drivers have limited hours per week they can drive. Only thing that will help is relaxing the hours per week limit.

This is laughable.

They regulate the crap out things. They tax businesses to about BK. They pay people to stay home. There is limited raw materials because they created the pandemic and NOW they want businesses to turn on a dime OR they will be cancelled.

Saw one of the top Port guys on the news saying “this is the result of years of investment neglect in the ports and they needed a big chunk of that infrastructure bill to fix the port back logs

The whole supply chain thing is starting to smell.

A lot of people predicted this cargo problem a few years ago when this CARB rule went into effect banning all trucks from entering the port that had engines 2010 or older. The Plandemic just delayed the inevitable until now when demand has increased. FJB saying the port is going to start working 24/7 to fix the problem is comical when they already work 24/7, lmao 🤣. This problem isn’t going away unless you can get more trucks in there to haul away the containers. A lot of truckers refused to purchase new equipment just to satisfy CARB. They just moved onto hauling somewhere else. Just another unsolved problem caused by the Democratic Socialist Party!!!
