We have a 97 Sea Ray Sundancer 300. Boat is twin small block Mercs with v-drives (I think this is a bit of a rare combo). We had an “incident” a few weeks back and I am in search of a port side strut. They are not comfortable fixing this one, and the current story is none available anywhere and will have to cast one. The price to cast one seems reasonable, but the 12 weeks to get it doesn’t fit my agenda.

Anyone have a connection for new or GOOD used? Pic for reference.

Contact a v drive shop and make one. I get you don’t want steel. Stainless?

Check out Lanier Marine Liquidators. They have a yard full of various boats and a warehouse full of NOS and discontinued parts. Maybe they could be a source of a good used or even a NOS unit. Just a thought!

Well, so far striking out. FP isn’t realistic with the lead times on their site. Over the phone they quoted 12 weeks. This fkn blows!

@Shlbyntro you have a secret source for junk like this?

Have you tried Marine Hardware in Richmond, Washington? When I had my shop, I always used them. Sometimes I had to send them the part to match up, but they never failed me. Plus their pricing was always fair.
$1800 for a strut sounds like rape…

I was just about to mention them! Marine Hardware makes most of the struts, shafts and underwater gear for many of the boat manufacturers

I'll call them tomorrow. I (within reason) don't give a FACK what it costs, its the time that I don't want to give up.
