It was a fantastic Mother's Day weekend! Surprised my wife with a new Cannondale, got my Grandpa's table saw up and running (Again!), worked on some more cabinets, mowed the yard, watched a few episodes of "Bosch, Legacy" and celebrated Mothers Day with my Mom. Overall, pretty damn good! 👍

Mothers day was good. No one in the family decided to perform. Only issue was getting home too late last night. Everyone is acting hung over this morning.

Flew to Vegas Friday afternoon to meet up with the wife. Had a good weekend, but lost money again 🤷🏻‍♂️. Those "free" rooms were expensive.

Had dinner at Ruth Chris at the Harrahs, our waiter Tom remembered my wife's drink from the last time we were there a few months back. He's been our waiter 3 or 4 times over the past few years, but he must review the old orders or something, were no one special to remember. Awesome food and awesome service.

Griner went out and had 13-14 cars with him. We caught up at the top of Bison.

It rained here Sat. So did nothing. Sunday had the family for rib eyes, coconut shrimp and sea scallops. We took the dog to the park. Beach was too busy.

I don’t really need this program in Havasu. I’d use it at home though. Our covered patio area is a dust/dirt trap. It catches everything the Santa Ana’s throw at it. Mixes with the AC condensation. It’s a nightmare.

You are supposed to take the money from the casinos!

Went up to the Aquarius last weekend and won about 5k..

Took the wife to Prescott for her birthday and stayed in an airbnb for the first time. I now can see why they are popular. Really is nicer than a hotel.

How do you get a Rubicon stuck?
I have been stuck twice in 8+ years and both times it was in deep soft sand at Superstition Mtn in CA and I was not aired down enough.

Weekend (no pics, wife has them all)
- Friday night sushi
- Saturday daughter’s volleyball practice
- Kentucky Derby party
- Saturday night movie night with the kid
- Mother‘s Day breakfast
- Daughters waterpolo practice
- 5mile Mothers Day hike in Romona
- Korean BBQ dinner at home

worn out, so today I am taking the boat back to Havasu (after work) since the annual service and repairs @ WOT Marine were completed last week.

Well the apex of the hill was a little too aggressive for the wheel base of the truck is how ya get stuck. Lol.

Problem is being addressed already. 🤪

Gladiators have a ton of rear overhand compared to an unlimited.

Pretty common to drag ass everywhere. Thats why the common build is 4" lift and 40's compared to 37's on the standard 4 door.

I'm going to build a new jeep soon now that we live in the Mecca of jeeps and i was half way tempted to build a JT as i like the room but everyone i have talked to says they love them but there not great in the rocks unless you bob the bed. I don't need another truck so i will probably just start with a JL rubi unlimited.

It sucked... LOL... Everyone had a cold, so we were pathetic lumps all weekend. I did fix our version of surf-n-turf for Mother's day dinner. I hope it was good,.I was so congested that nothing tasted right.

Finished up new steps & fenders on the Whaler Trailer, now just need the new trim switch from BRP to arrive.
Moms favorite cactus bloomed (she's passed) so we said that she sent a Happy Mothers Day from heaven. ❤️

Was a good weekend for the most part. It did make me realize the change that has gong on in our family.….

As I was growing up we had what I thought was a close family. Turns out that it was my grandparents and their lust for a goor time with laughter and family close by. They traveled the US in their RVs the last 30 years of their lives. Making friends EVERYWHERE they went of all ages.

As a child we would have all the family together during holidays. We’d beg the parents to let us stay just a little longer to play 31 and try to wind the pot of nickels, letter to become quarters. LOL

Mother’s Day was a great event. We would go to the Tahitian Lanai in Waikiki.

7023A016-99D8-4445-8CB2-5C69EEC7AAF5.jpeg

It was placed where the water slide is now. This was a special restaurant as most family that moved to or from Hawaii would be taken there like my parents and grandparents did when they moved to Hawaii. The family would get a little hut and most of the time it was grand parents, parents and aunts/uncles and cousins.

59A82BC4-D092-44A4-92F8-05697AE883C6.jpeg

The mothers were always the belle of the ball on that day and showered with gifts from my grandfather who adored and loved all of them no matter what.

Well…..fast forward 40+ years and……

The Tahitian Lanai is no longer there. Although when word went out that they were closing the manager who was a family friend at this point gave my grandparents a few table settings that are still at the family home.

My grandparents have passed but they left me such vivid memories to which I try to create with my wife and son.

My siblings and cousins have all moved away from Hawaiii.

Stepfather passed away 5 years ago

Father passed away 2 years ago

Mother moved to Bend Oregon to the home that she bought years ago next to my sister.

So after growning up with the ideal family. Or as my wife and a few other have said…..”I am the bubble boy OR grew up in a bubble”

Here I sit with……
My Step Mother who still is not able to do much as she still mourns the passing of my father for 2 years now.
My wife who has had unbelievable medical challenges at a time that we should enjoy life.
Our son who started a business last year and made over 6 figures in 9 months. But saddened for the loss of his grandfather.

I realized 3 years ago as my wife was going through her challenges that your family is what YOU make. I have started with good relationships with friends and make them great!!!! Started finding new friends who, like my grandfather, look past my faults and enjoy the time that we have together.

I look to getting into our boat this summer to bring me back tot he day of floating in Moanaluian Bay surfing and even when there were not any wave just dicking around in the ocean.

I thank the members of RDP for being my new family!!!!

Helped my son install some new lighting in his garage. Out with the old, in with the new. 15 new LED canless lites, total pull 1.25 amps. Now, I wonder if I can bring him some projects to work on???

I park across the street from it for our morning beach walks. We walk into town, have breakfast and walk back. Oddly, on Friday I stared at their sign & thought we should check it out sometime soon.😀
Hard to believe the power plant is almost completely gone.

Saturday my golf was good enough to win a few bucks vs my normal donations. Wife spent most of the day going through her moms things with her sis.
Sunday morning I run off for roses & sunflowers. We take a 3-4 mile hike around the local hills. Get home and make her a awesome breakfast, lounge around a few hours, go have dinner at our sons house. Give her an amazing massage and end the evening "Happy". 😊🥰😇

What a hell of a demo job. Forgot how long they’ve been working on it but it’s been awhile.

They were taking it down piece by piece.
In the last couple week, they have started to get more aggressive on the removal

Friday 6:45am to 1:15am turn around trip to Havasu. Checked on the house and picked out some final items. Picked up the boat after it got serviced and full hydraulic steering installed. Hit the water for a few hours. Had dinner at Hangar. Wiped down and dropped off the boat at storage in Mohave Valley. Got home dead tired.
