Anybody ever Beach there and hangout?
Such a nice spot, it's seems jacked up that BLM doesn't want any one to use it.

I understand BLM fees and all that. I'm asking about the particular beach on the island that says not open to the public, no beaching allowed. It's a nice sandy beach on the backside of the island. Mostly curious if anyone has been using and have BLM show up. What were the consequences?

Nice spot alright. Indicates for authorized boats only. We parked there Wednesday and didn’t see anyone. Just put your engine hatch up like you are having issues😬
We were there on Wednesday too. Maybe you were in the boat waiting for us to load up and pull out

We've been there a few times for day use, must have been before they blocked the beach.

We stop there quite a bit. Never on that beach but the no wake zone is awesome

It is a great spot but usually taken. The sign has been there for at least a few years so when we find it empty we pull up, unload, and then box anchor out with stern tied to shore. It is not great sand so we would anchor out anyways.

That's what makes the beach so nice, totally protected from any wake. Unless some guy comes through at about 20 mph like happened on Wednesday and I had to start the boat and put it back on the beach

Ha. In the BLM advertisement photos it shows a beached boat.

Emergency beached there a handful of years ago during the gnarly storm that knocked down all the power poles south of SARA park. I recall seeing a sign there saying 10min parking for bathroom use only.

10 minutes for bathroom use is a China Buffet morning...

What sign? Been there with the jet skis when the rangers have pulled up before, they were not very happy with us.

Why would the restrict the use of this beach?
I could understand closing it a couple hours a week so they can get in there to service the toilets and trash cans, but to allow no use at all seems ridiculous

When the turtle is poking his head out, you need to run it up on the beach and run for the hill!!

As a kid, we used to boat camp there all the time. I remember that we used to waterski around the island which was fun, I don't think it was a no wake zone at the time.

How many people actually use those Pit Shitters / Hot Pockets?

Doesnt everyone just do an aqua dookie / feed the fish?

asking for a friend in the channel !

That sign was on that beach 21 years ago 😁
On the off-chance anybody is curious about the stylish "Winter Beachwear" attire 🧐 We found out through trial & error, that using kayaking outerwear jackets over our wetsuits really made for a warmer ride on those cold winter days.

The sign doesn’t indicate 20 minute parking any longer. something like no authorized vessels.

So you can camp there, but you can't park your boat there?
