Any recommendations for someone to finish my Spectra 24?
I need the following done:
Complete wire gauges, motor, everything
Complete plumb (water, oil gas etc.) everything
Cav plates remounted with up down motor
False bottom, carpet
Imco risers mounted to exhaust tips welding required...
The hull number should be on the inside of the back of the hull.
Yes, 71-74 were heavier and IMO, better made hulls. I have had 3 early Spectras (2 20’s)& (1 18) all 3 had foam core decks and the center bulk head like the v-drives.
I currently have 2 1977 Spectra hulls 20 & XS 24 both drives...
I have a Spectra 20 (Catalina Ski Race Boat-MoonShine) with (Gentry Twin Turbo BBC I think 468 cubic inch) and
Was told By the guys I bought the boat from they got high 90’s with 900+ HP and 2 blade prop.
Best mph I have seen is low 80’s with 3 blade. Brent
The bottom is a 24 foot Spectra. Howard Brown copied both the Spectra 20 & 24
When Howard Brown owned Howard it was called the Citation different deck. I think Connelly made the same hull.
Gene & Michael bought Howard they changed to the current deck with the 22 Offshore
Gene & Michael’s...
Just find a 71-74 Spectra 20 jet, it has the 4 full stringers & center bulkhead.
I have had both Spectra 20’s (jet with 500+ cubic inch & v-drive with 468 twin turbos),
V-Drive is a better setup for high HP motors
I don’t think Eliminator changed the bottom, I am sure Teague, Eldelbrock & Herbst had lots of bottom work on their vdrive Spectra 19’s.
FYI- Spectra sold a set of Spectra 20 molds to Miller Boats.
