    Best swamp cooler?

Thanks for the input Wheeler! I'm pretty well set on that Mastercool downdraft unit. It will just about drop in to replace the Tradewinds it's replacing.

Any recommendations for a real-estate agent in vegas?

Bobby Deveraux is my guy. He sold my last house and worked the deal for the buy on my new one. Great guy. 702-353-4364

The movie "The Last Full Measure"

Just finished watching it about 2 hrs ago here at home, it was damn good! I didn't see where it said it was a true story, but given the interviews at the end during the credits, I think it was.

New wheels/tires - piece together and bring to a shop or try to buy at one place?

Thanks for the info guys. I decided to make a change from internet shopping and make a PHONE CALL. My local Discount Tire store said they could order the WHEELS (rrrr) and would price match the tires to Tire Rack who had the same $303 tires for $93. Got it all ordered and setup. Seems odd...

New wheels/tires - piece together and bring to a shop or try to buy at one place?

I'm about ready for some new tires for my car, and have decided to upgrade wheels too. I can't find any place online that has the wheels and tires I want, to buy them as a package and have them shipped ready to bolt on with TPMS sensors installed. I've always thought that tire shops would...

    Best swamp cooler?

I'm looking hard at the Mastercool AD2C7112 unit. Comes with the t-stat, purge and pre-wired 2-speed 240V motor. I know we have hard water and scale buildup is an issue with the current cooler, even with the inline filter. I don't mind putting a better filter inline, to try to get the pads to...

    Best swamp cooler?

The Mastercool unit I'm looking at uses the squirrel cage fan, not a prop fan, so I can't imagine it could be much louder than the squirrel cage fan in the Tradewinds I have now. Maybe your neighbors have a different model? Also not sure how you get more than a year out of Aspen pads...I have...

    Best swamp cooler?

Thanks for the info. I do have a purge pump and scale filter on the Tradewinds now, but Wheeler is steering me towards a different filter to look into. According to the website, the Mastercools now have a plastic lined wet section with a limited lifetime warranty. I'll look into the 2-stage...

    Best swamp cooler?

Thanks for the info Wheeler. What do you like better about the Aerocool? How are you filtering the water?

    Best swamp cooler?

Yessir. Still here. The one I have now works bitchin'. Easily takes 30* from ambient to inside temps, but it's 15 years old, discontinued and uses the Aspen pads. It is all plastic other than the motor and fan, so there isn't much to go wrong either. I just want something newer with the big...

    Best swamp cooler?

I want to replace the swamp cooler in my shop. It's an old Champion Tradewinds unit that came with the house when we bought it. 2-speed, 230V, 7500cfm, 4-panel Aspen pads, downdraft setup that is on a pedestal that feeds into a wall in my shop. The shop is 1680sf and this thing worked great...

    concealed carry

Once you go through all the suggestions and make your purchase, then do the most important thing. Send your daughter to a training class. Hell, join her as it's fun and you'll learn a bit. I suggest Front Sight outside of Vegas. My fiance' and I train there at least a few times a year. DM...

    Rifled Slugs

I agree that 12ga slugs are one of the most fun things to shoot. That's a lota lead, and it's moovin! Federal low recoil slugs from my 590A1 Mossberg are great. We shoot quite a few in the Front Sight classes.

Fully loaded Voltage 3905 fifth wheel

The 3905 has a 14' garage and washer/dryer hookups in the garage. No second bathroom though. Here's the floorplan I saved when browsing them a few years back.

    Porch pirates at it again

This shows the issue with our society. The shop owner was booked with second-degree battery and second-degree kidnapping. He was being held Monday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in lieu of a $75,000 bond. The burglar was booked with simple burglary after his release the hospital...

    Porch pirates at it again

Honestly, cameras are great, but when you're 15 minutes away (or more in many cases), all it does it show you that your stuff got stolen. Ship everything to work, or your girls' work, or your buddy...somewhere where there is always someone there to receive it. I won't ship anything to the...

    Shoot Out in Parker

"Champ boats" are that type of hull. They are used in F1, F2, SST120, SST140, etc. There are a few different sizes of boats, and I'm not sure the legalities of which length is used in what class myself. My dad's "Champ boat" was originally built to run F1. It was 18' long. When he bought...
